Congratulations to the lovely couple. Nice to have a heartwarming story for a change.

Agreed. There are so many good news stories out there that don't get the attention they deserve.

An intellectual disability does not mean you need to shuffled out of sight and ignored.

May they enjoy each other's company for many years to come.

Sad they had to wait so long but happy they have been able to finally realise what should be an inalienable right!

Congratulations!

Good for them.

Sad it took 30 years but good for them. I’m sure there are plenty of people who have some undiagnosed mental disability who don’t have difficulties getting married.

Blessings, happiness and prosperity to both of them.

Congratulations to both of you, you have waited too long for your love to come together. Live a happy life :)

The couple lives in an apartment building in the city with Kikuyo's mother. A helper from a disability welfare service visits the home once a week.

If they were going to have a helper help them out anyway, why on Earth would anybody - family or social services - be against them marrying and loving each other together?

What an insane way of thinking. I'm so glad for this couple.
