A private company should be able to do whatever they want - even if it’s just a public relations move.

All insurance companies need to do is offer lower premiums for non-smokers in a company

Why would any "health " insurance company give insurance to a smoker?

Lawson is going smoke free because they cannot hire people who will work in smoky cancer ridden

environments any longer. Restaurants as well. No one wants to get cancer while working, other than

smokers who are pathetic losers.

you can't ban people smoking on lunch hours and person breaks and that is their own private thing. nobody banning people from smoking completely , only in enclosed spaces where non smokers are exposed to their second hand smoke

If you want them to quit make them pay more for health insurance no just increase the tax on tobacco, In Australia the tobacco tax is 69cent about 58yen per cigarette, it has proven to reduce the smoking rates considerably over the last 20yrs.

Declaring a couple of decades off the baccy here, as a reformed smoker. Happy to defend the rights of people to smoke, privately.

But C'mon guys, is this lip service, or corporate image, or what...

Do convenience stores sell cigarettes?

Do life insurers check policy-holder smoking history thoroughly?

I'm more impressed with the guy from the marketing company who's prepared to suffer more staff holidays (if they take them...!), but will have a healthier workforce. That's proper corporate bravery, that is. He should puff his chest out and walk taller than the kombini and seimei apparatchiks.

While I don't like smoking or second hand smoke you can't ban people smoking on lunch hours and person breaks and that is their own private thing.

It's all for the best, really. I quit over a decade ago and now I only crave a smoke every 30 seconds instead of constantly.

One word......restaurants!!!
