Gundam has been standing watch over Diver City Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba all by himself for quite some time now. He’s been holding down the fort fairly well, but it looks like Gundam is in need of some flower power. That’s where the Tokyo Gundam Project 2012, an initiative aimed at promoting the green movement and tree planting, stepped in.
Thanks to this initiative, Flower Gundam, with the strength of 10,000 flowers, is now helping normal Gundam keep watch.
Flower Gundam is the same size as the original Gundam statue. From far away, he looks like a beautiful topiary robot, but up close, Flower Gundam is a little terrifying and seems big enough to swallow you whole.
Utilizing 10,000 begonias, zinnias, and star daisies, its formal name is “Flower Gundam Topiary.” The Flower Gundam Topiary will only be around until Oct 28. Don’t miss your chance to see Gundam and Flower Gundam together in action.

I wonder how long it will take China to copy this one too?

Make love, not space battle?

I thought the Gundam was a permanent exhibit? I mean the plaza it stands in certainly looks like it was designed for the mecha to stand in.

Odaiba Gundam Style.
It reminds me of the Gundam series "G Gundam". There was an opponent in the series who uses flowers as weapon. I think it was the Gundam France. (hahaha an obvious and explicit comment from a Gundam fan).

Thunder, it'll be gone by then (though the "smaller" full sized gundam is there). You just need to use the yurikamome to the odaiba station and walk to diver city from there.

Really must go and see that big Gundam in November.
(Anyone any idea how to get there from Okachimachi?)

I pass by there pretty often and I haven't noticed it yet so probably it's not that old? And JT, it's "DiverCity"

By now that thing is a wilted flower gundam. Saw them building it a month ago, and those flowers don't last that long.
