Good for him

I hope they can enjoy their life together. It's a shame the reporters continually stalk them.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

and Komuro’s mother may move in with them.

I see the mother has weaseled her way in..

4 ( +7 / -3 )

My friend son passed it on the first try in Georgia,he gonna take the bar exam in Texas

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

At long last. We all look forward to moving on.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

So will he actually do lawyer work?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Lawyers do not make exorbitant salary ,unless you are a personal injury lawyer, you can make 10 of million off of one case, most lawyer never enter a courtroom, paralegal do 80 percent of the lawyer work, but the lawyer get the bulk of all the money

The man who married a former Japanese princess

Cumbersome and rather impolite, was it impossible to use his name?

Good for him.

Pity the Japanese press can’t leave them alone to get on with their lives. As to snidely contrasting her wearing casual clothes in comparison to the archaic formal clothing normally on display, good for her and perhaps the imperial minders could learn a lesson from her!

Must have been tough: it's in English, a second language for him.

My son graduated top of his high school class but could never score well on the TOEFL so went to a junior college (TOEFL not required) for to years in California then transferred to New York University. For others in his (and my) situation, that's a good gambit.

Congrats

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Good for him, Congrats.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Congratulations and good luck

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Hopefully this will mean the still remaining interest of the media on the couple will fade away at last.

Since he a lawyer,do he know how to get a restraining order,to protect him and his wife privacy, Harry go as he pleases, probably go shopping, and nobody knows or cares who he is,these Japanese reporters can be deported,if they are engaging in illegal activity

Such a happy delightful picture of Princess Mako and now husband Kei Komuro who has passed his 3rd attempt law exam in New York where they now live happily as the latest New York residents.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Really good to hear he passed this difficult exam in his second language. Good on him.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Wallace, passing the bar exam,do not mean you will be good lawyer, most law in America, deal with legal procedure, how you are able to operate in a court room

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

He finally did it!!!!

He cut the absurd pony tail off!!!!

oh, yeah and he passed the bar. Good job.

The man who married a former Japanese princess has passed the New York bar exam on his third attempt.

Why is this news?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Love (and passing the NY bar exam) conquers all.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

You can get certified as a paralegal in Texas in 32 weeks, you can do most things a lawyer can do ,but you cannot give legal advice

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Leave them alone.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The media need to stop bothering the couple and their lives.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Seems they want a normal, upper-middle-class life and probably to be left alone.

I wish them happiness together.

Gotta wonder if they didn't get the message that NYC is full of violence and guns, like many posters here would have the world believe. At least they don't need to worry about earthquakes.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Congratulations!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Finally, the media will harass this guy.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

stop

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Have they been on the National Enquirer,if not ,they are not important

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

the couple may move from Hell’s Kitchen to a ritzier neighborhood and Komuro’s mother may move in with them.

Good grief. Didn't they move halfway across the world to avoid all the faff with their families? Guess the mother didn't get the memo. I hope they put their foot down on this otherwise their honeymoon period will be forever and permanently over.

Congrats on him passing the bar though. That's quite the achievement considering how brutal that examination is.

Well, at least as a lawyer he is going to have a lot of work defending victims and criminals with the crime skyrocketing in New York..

I feel sorry for them living in that sick jungle..

Do not leave your luxurious apartment much, it can be very dangerous, especially if you take the dirty and dangerous NYC subway..

Well, at least as a lawyer he is going to have a lot of work defending victims and criminals with the crime skyrocketing in New York..

My understanding is his interest is corporate law. New Yawk might be a good place to find corporate law jobs.

The Imperial Household Agency, tried EVERYTHING POSSABLE to Break This Couple.

Thanfully THEY FAILED.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Every brides dream, having her mother-in-law move in with them.

Husband of former princess

He has a name you know?

The man who married a former Japanese princess has passed the New York bar exam on his third attempt.

Again, he has a name, why does it matter it was the 3rd time? You couldn't just have said "Passed NY bar exam" ? You had to be petty and dismissive.

The Japanese tabloids had stalked the couple in New York

The way you wrote this article was not better than what those tabloids did.

Pretty much this article is a tabloid material. Shameful that they let writers of JT write like this.

But the reaction to Komuro and Mako was especially frenzied, much of it focusing on whether he would be able to support his wife.

Japanese public and media need to mind their own damn business. Deal with your own lives instead of wasting precious time on what someone else does. Ridiculous nation.

At least, they are not treated like second class citizen in America, like Gaijin are treated in Japan, foreigners can generally live their lives in American like an American, with little restrictions, they have almost the same legal rights to a point,if they abide by the immigration restrictions, they have to register, with the local police,La Migra got powerful deportation power, some Russian woman fighting La Migra Google Anna Sorkin

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Funny they always call ‘Masako’ a ‘commoner’ at every opportunity they get & use it as a insult. She’s one hell of a clever woman, she speaks at least 5 languages.

How did he survive the high costs in New York all this time?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

With all Japan Today readers I wish Kamuro & Masako much happiness in their new life in New York.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Hopefully this will mean the still remaining interest of the media on the couple will fade away at last.

And a little dose of humor for early Sunday morning reading here.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Good luck to then both, maybe love conquers after all.

This ghastly hacks need to refine from staking, they are both private citizens.
