With the current stats on this virus, it would appear that the death rate is slowly climbing. For the last two weeks it was hovering around 2.1% but as of this moment as I write this, there are 80,422 confirmed cases and 2,711 deaths making it 3.37% which is now 42 times more deadly then the common flu.

Numbers obtained from the following URL:

The following website has been showing "Not fully configured" errors for two days now at both URLs.

I have noticed that all 4 people were in their 80s.

Meanwhile, 29 more "quarantine" graduates have tested positive for the virus.

Because their governments flew them home first before they were tested. That is why they tested positive.

The 29 “quarantine graduates” are the ones in Japan, as reported in the news, not the ones flown home.

Just read in the UK Daily Mail online newspaper that an Italian Doctor maybe diagnosed with CV in a Tenerife (Canary Islands) hotel with many Britons and other nationalities in residence. The Spanish authorities there seem to be making the exact same mistake as the Japanese !! (Presumably there is no radio, TV or internet there ). They have locked the tourists in their room without, it is reported, any food or drinks. The hotel's entrance is photographed chained closed and security/police patrolling outside to make sure there are no escapees. The airconditioning, due to the hot weather, is still functioning and that maybe an additional CV spread.?

The island attracts elder tourists for its climate and good travel deals. Unless they and the staff, if CV is confirmed, are taken out, tested and individually quarantined for 21 days this incident may end badly and damage the tourism industry there which basically relies on it to live.

When is the government going to come straight and tell us the real number of infected people...

Because the government doesn't know and nobody knows.

Minus the cruise ship, only 1584 PCR test have been carried in Japan as of February 20.

We are aware of the risks of them getting infected when they take off a mask or gloves, so we will have thorough measures to prevent infections under these circumstances,"

Can someone explain to me what this sentence (or better uttering) is supposed to mean?

In means don't break protocols. If a health care worker, does not break protocols, the chances are remote that they will not get infected. The problem is that health care are under a lot stress and will make mistakes.

Its almost like Japan did the complete wrong things, breed the virus then allowed everyone infected to leave.

It’s sad that another person has lost their life from the ship. I hope they keep a close watch on the Japanese passengers who disembarked without additional quarantine.

On another note it looks like a worldwide tender has gone out to clean the ship,

@Klaus: Perhaps they are having someone else remove the masks and gloves.

But that seems like a pyramid scheme to me. The last person loses.
