In an age of so called over tourism, these long holiday periods need to be rethought out. There is no way people are going to come back invigorated and ready to work after going through such a stressful ordeal

Mr. kishida, how about leading the world with the the establishment of a four day workweek, or so some other visionary policy that will really kickstart the economy and allow your people to live more stressful lives? Will be good for the birthrate too.

Won't happen.

Only Biden thinks he is a ‘visionary.’

I detest going out during these holidays.

Transportation is a joke!

Over capacity trains and dangerous roads.

I’m staying home…

It only seemed like it was the New Year. Life moving too quickly. We like the Golden Week holidays but mostly remain at home and enjoy good food. Walk down to the beach.

I planted new flowers at the gate. I washed all the windows with the garden hose and planted my Basil and Mint. We will be ready for Golden Week.

Japan's commercialism say "erstwhile daily life was back""pre-Covid life was back".

But its actuality is just pretence "recovery" that society where couldn't overcome Covid19 falsifying as if Covid19 was ended and ignored many victim by infection surge still caused whenever summer and winter.

"erstwhile daily life" "pre-Covid life" is never back for bereaved people who lost family by infection disease that society ignored it to prioritize business than public health.

With Golden Week you have to zig while everyone else is zagging. Kyoto, Nikko, Okinawa - no way. But other places exist and they're worth checking out.

It's so annoying how everyone here goes on vacation at the same time - Golden Week, Obon, New Years, etc.

Businesses and, more importantly doctors' and veterinarian's offices closed; trains and highways jammed; stores packed; kids everywhere...

Thankfully, we don't work. So, we aren't locked into that drudgery. We can vacation whenever we want. But, those periods become stay-at-home times. Unfortunately, many cool events are scheduled during those times. Then, we must decide if it's worth fighting traffic and crowds. Usually, it isn't.
