A very uncommon opinion I have. I am expecting the downvotes.
The Japanese need to be evacuated. The Afghans, need to stay and fight. Think of this. If another country attacked say Germany, and that country controlled everything but the airport, would Germans just attempt to flee their homeland or would they fight until death? I know what I would do! No one comes to my Country and tells me how to live. Stay, and fight, don't flee!

That’s correct, security reasons I would also recommend to start to consider only after all that. lol

Very typical of the Japanese government this - just slow!
The Taliban started their March towards Kabul and power on August 6th and by the 15th, we’re at the gates of Kabul.
The government have had ample enough time to have plans in place to get these people out. But no…..focus is on getting kids into the Paralympics and Suga seeking re-election.

I live in Fukuoka and I imagined a man who devoted his life in Afghanistan and assassinated there, Dr. Tetsu Nakamura who is from Fukuoka. I wanted to know if he has agreed to evacuate Afghanistan because of the Taliban power there.
divinda
Yeah, "neighboring Turkey" ignores the 2000+km of Iran sitting in between.
OssanAmerica
Since Dr Nakamura was killed in December 2019, I don't think he agrees or disagrees with the evacuation going on now.

They need some serious coordination. They don't say where the Japanese citizens are located or if they have safe and unobstructed passage to the airport. I wonder if it is best for the plane to wait nearby, but outside Afghanistan. Have their citizens be at the airport waiting first. Once they are there, immediately get in and get them out.

Safely move the Afghan refugees to the nearest Islamic country. Don't bring them here, it's not suitable, too much freedom and too many women's rights.
kurisupisu
Japan is going to accept refugees from Afghanistan?
I will believe this when I see it-no wonder they’re keeping the number secret.

@kurisuplsu
It is a bit tough to believe, but Japan does have at least 100 Yazidis they took in from Iraq some years ago. With pressure from the US, I can see them taking a scoopful. A story I came across said Afghans would be taken to US bases in South Korea, but no mention of Japan.

Looking like 3 C-2s.

Let some of the "woke" Western countries take the bulk of the Afghan refugees. Those types have consistently demonstrated an inability to assimilate and have caused problems in every first-world country they have been imported into.

The Taliban should make it clear that trying to sneak any Americans the previous occupiers left behind is absolutely unacceptable. They have to be thoughly interrogated to find out which were combatants, secret police and occupation administrators.
Frankly speaking, off the top of my head, only medical personel who were treating locals (not the invaders) and educators in math and science should go free.

How the modern armed forces were overthrown by the Flintstones I'll never know. Good luck boys. Get your men out safely and quickly.

Most people are blaming President Biden and former President Trump for this but in reality it’s not their fault! People in the US have always wished for the complete return of soldiers from Afghanistan and this scenario was going to happen regardless of how the withdrawal took place. The Afghan security forces didn’t want to fight with the taliban on their own and surrendered easily. Many heads of the Afghan forces were in cohort with the Taliban so they surrendered without fighting. Even if this withdrawal took place 10 years from now, the outcome would be exactly the same! The most idiotic thing is that foreigners stuck there are complaining now but they had so much time to leave Afghanistan prior to the Taliban taking full control but they were the least bit bothered to do it. When it was too late then they are trying to leave there and blaming their own Governments for not evacuating them!
ReasonandWisdomNippon
Who broke Afghanistan? USA
Who is responsible for all this problems? USA
Who should take in all the refugees and send money? USA
USA broke it. You Buy It. You Deal with Refugees which you are Causing/Making.
ReasonandWisdomNippon
@kurisuplsu
Russia also responsible for attacking Afghanistan in the 80s and early 90s. Invading, being aggressive, destroying.
I don't see anyone from that country asking Putin to take in more refugees. You should do it first since you have so much in common with USA in Afghanistan.
Peter14
Afghanistan was "broken" long before the USA got there.
I would say the responsible parties are Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
The US already spent over two Trillion dollars on Afghanistan and that is more than enough.
As for refugees from Taliban rule, they should be taken in by all nations with a conscious.
USA did not break it. Taliban is causing refugees due to their harsh institution of Sharia law.
If your going to make accusations, at least be truthful about it.

Lightning reaction.

Leaving Afghanistan,if now ,When?
GBR48
The international community should be using the largest passenger planes that the runway can take, flown by military pilots. It's not like they are busy carrying tourists at the moment.
Get as many out as possible and divvy them up afterwards. Concentrate on those who will suffer the most when the Taliban get the place to themselves.
-Who would want to live in a country whose government is run by xenophobic, old fashioned, corrupt, chauvinistic mad men?
None of us. But we all have to.
Stephan
In Somalia, "leave no man behind". In Afghanistan, leave 10~15000 behind. See how much they want to prance around waving the flag now. Maybe it will be better for a lot of them. Afghanistan has universal health care.
Seesaw7
They are kidding about the Afghans, rights?

Here is a footage of the first JDF C-2 aircraft leaving Japan for Afghanistan.

There will be more tomorrow.

There is no need to panic and flee from Afghanistan.
The Taliban have promised to be peaceful, forgiving, and respectful towards everyone.
When offered the hand of friendship, you take it warmly, you do not turn your back and run!
Stand your ground, set a good example and give peace a chance!
