Not a chance, against Disney in the Tokyo Rea with ever declining population but particularly because the Harry Potter craze is over and the new generations are much less interested

I wish my nation would grow up and stop it's infatuation with childish theme parks. Sadly they're for the adults more than the children.

Yawn. I feel sad that the young/women in this country would rather spend a ton of their (daddy's/ATMs) money on a fantasy land rather than travel abroad and experience a new culture and country. Such insular thinking doesn't bode well for the future of Japan .

Lots of nice trees in Toshimaen, one of the few places in Tokyo that has any trees, so they will soon be gone. And instead of a unique, relatively green, friendly, traditional amusement park, we get another theme park. Utterly boring.

Great i live in 10 minutes by bike from Toshimaen surely will try new park!

Athough you guys are right Harry Potter haze will be over even more till 2023.

Im just glad that there will be something new instead. It's better to have Harry Potter park than new superstore...

If there is an interactive kill Voldemort ride, plus another one where you get to be eaten by the giant black snake, I’ll go.

Surely with JK Rawling’s recent “hate filled bigotry” against trans women, they won’t allow this open. It will only become a shrine for fascists! :)

This was a thing when my kids were kids. Now they have kids...

JK Rawling has been cancelled by the woke left. When the progs in Tokyo find out it will be ash heaped for a Totoro Park or Konan the Detective Land.

I really enjoyed the Harry Potter books and movies with my kids, but as mentioned above, that was a long time ago. These days when I ask or mention Harry Potter to students, many say they have heard of the character, but either haven't read the books or seen the movies. The only thing I can think of, is that it is to appeal to those kids who grew up with the Harry Potter franchise and get them to introduce it to a new generation.

Japan can make theme park world famous with their own anime characters. But they always go for western. Even in their movies/dramas, the OST are all English songs.

I'm from Scotland, which is a big Harry Potter theme park itself.

@Daryl Scotland sounds more fun than the HP theme park to be

More fantasy dream world childish things from Japan, perhaps they should look more at making a reality styled theme park where Japanese can go and experience the real world instead of having to travel overseas to find it.
