Hino City to host lantern-lit evenings at Takahata Momiji Illumination

The 2018 Takahata Momiji Illumination will be held on the evenings of Nov 22 and 23 in western Tokyo’s Hino City. From 5-8 p.m., the Takahata shopping arcade and area around Takahata Fudo-son’s five-storied pagoda will be decorated with a whimsical blend of autumn maple viewing and wintery illumination aesthetics.

The Takahata Momiji Illumination will feature several thousand candlelit lanterns, including around 500 hand-carved artisan yume-akari lanterns, which feature intricate papercut designs. Two mini-concerts will be positioned on opposite ends of the illumination area, and will be audible from the surrounding lantern trails.

Details are available at the event webpage at http://www.city.hino.lg.jp/languages/english/1010674.html
