In many ways it’s still practiced in the USA today. For instance, Down Syndrome babies are routinely aborted. We will never be free of this. Don’t just point fingers at the Nazis and Imperial Japan.

It's after the fact, and that it was not consensual that is the problem, apples and oranges argument.

Eugenics was the law of the land in the USA too

Indeed and according to a PBS 2016 program on the subject California was still doing coercive sterilizations up until just a few years ago.

Eugenics was the law of the land in the USA too. Forced sterilizations and all that. It was a great liberal cause. Even the great Oliver Wendell Holmes, the ultimate progressive champion, supported it and the laws were upheld in the Supreme Court.

Maybe if you didn't disconnect his plumbing, he'd have family to help support him in his old age instead of having to sue you

Think about that for a moment, a law instituted in 1948, 3 years after the war was over, but based upon the Nazi law and passed during the US occupation of Japan, which lasted from 1945 to 1952.

Also during which time the constitution was rewritten and laws that came into effect were, at the minimum, perused by the occupation authorities.

There has to be more to this than being written here.

Hope they get the money... it's much needed when you're old and have no Kids to support you.

The Japanese have traditionally been totally ignorant regarding the western concepts of Natural Law and The Moral Laws of the civilized western world.

Animal husbandry is fine on farms but not in civilized nations.

Fascist Nazi Germany and Japan practiced evil eugenics prior to their being anihilated in World War Two.

It is heartening to see Japan finally making the Great Leap Forward into fully accepting Natural Law Morality.

This Eugenic-law is LDP in a nutshell.

Superiority and state intervention above people’s privacy and daily life.

I'm always saddened that eugenics still has it's supporters out there. As Zichi says, the forced sterilisations were nothing short of barbaric.

Have no sympathy for the government in this. Let it be a lesson to them that this sort of thing must never happen again.

Exactly what it is, Zichi. They advocate for the purity of human race, ultimately abandoning everything humane in them. What are they?
