A human leg was found floating in a river Monday in Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Police said Tuesday it is the left leg of an adult person but the sex and age have not been determined yet.
According to police, a 42-year-old man who was fishing in the river found the leg around 8:40 a.m. and called police. Police said the leg had been severed just below the thigh.

here we go again. This happened last month in Ibaraki. Just another nail in the coffin of Japanese society. One's first thoughts would be towards the Yaks, but it may have been your neighbor.
