Quote: "Demand for professionals in Japan's hospitality industry is high"...

This makes me think of the entertainment industry, nothing at all to do with 'hospitals' or care giving.

He also said working in Japan is a prime choice for Filipino professionals because of the relatively high salaries, as well as the culture of inclusion that characterizes the East Asian country.

Relative to which country or countries? If it is the philippines then yes.

Good luck to them. We need caregivers and nurses in Japan and they need the money for themselves and their families

Filipinos also have a solid work ethic compared to others.

It's true. I've met many Filipinas who work very long hours, for example in Snack or Pubs. They don't complain, and send back money every month via Western Union to support their family at home. Compared to some other SE Asians, who are a little work shy, Filipinas are a good choice for workaholic Japan.

That will also afford them the opportunity to practice their profession in the country permanently.

So they will be permanent "guest workers", but not "immigrants". The article needs to make it clearer.

One out of every seven Filipinos/Filipanas works outside of the Philippines. I've lived where there was a large contract worker force and they were certainly among the best. Unfortunately many have faced terrible treatment around the world so this should provide a very good opportunity for them.

what will they be paid?

I like Filipino but the jobs should be given to umemployed Japanese who spend the money in Japan.

The only reason there are Filipino seamen and officers in the Japanese merchant navy is because the companies can pay lower wages and offer less benefits.

which lowers Japanese wages too. Globalization only benefits the corporations not the public.
