Great label, should put that in other products too! Special from Japan made since 2011.

If ijits are going to change their behavior because of things beyond their control, it is not something people should worry about. This is the process of education.

LOL, and China provided evidence it's all political by banning all seafood, not just Fukushima. As for SK, meh, swallowed the CCP propaganda and disinformation whole.
This clearly illustrates why TikTok, Weibo and other Chinese products should be banned. Especially Chinese EVs (in car apps and spy cameras etc.).
China and Russia both asked for Evap instead of release 2 days ago, LOL the two nations that can't and won't commit to wean themselves off of fossil asking Japan to use fossil to burn water, and option that's not even entertained by the UN, not to mention it would take much much longer.
Humanity is best served by quick decommission and restoration of the site. Japan should accelerate water release to less than a decade instead of 3 decades just to appease to these loonies.

LOL. fake fish, fake agenda...

What is all the fuss about? From the BBC yesterday 24 August
"Today's radiation exposure for humans is very low
Overwhelmingly, the message from experts is that today's release is safe.
The process of treating the water and the plan to release it has been closely scrutinised by international authorities, who have found it adheres to even conservative safety standards.
Not only can these radioactive isotypes already be found inside the human body, the amount of them in the water release is so tiny it’s negligible.
The projected radiation dose to members of the public is in the range of 0.002 to 0.030 microSv per year.
But humans can safely be exposed to tens of thousands of times more than that - up to 1,000 microSv of radiation per year.
And to put it in perspective, a simple dental X-ray gives you a radiation dose of about 5 microSv, while a mammogram used in breast cancer screening gives you a dose of about 200 to 300 microSv."

Well, that’s funny, because I imagine she’s about to lose a massive amount of weight.
Furthermore, she must be rich because I imagine beef and chicken prices are about to skyrocket from this latest episode of fear mongering.

It’s too late folks biohazard water has already begun the release. Cancer patients will be on the rise I bet.
Mr Kipling
2 things at play here..One, a petty chance to politically bash Japan and two, the usual knee jerk, panic to the word radiation.
The UK puts far more dangerous pollutants into its rivers everyday... Guess where it ends up? And not just the UK... China is lecturing on pollution?
falseflagsteve
Nutjobs who believe the fear minoring from the man on the Telly.
Facts Please
It’s extremely sad and unfortunate to see people with legitimate concerned being denigrated for expressing those concerns simply because of their ethnicity/citizenship/color.

After the water release they should make the cost of eating fish down to 50% because its going to kill you eventually. Need to save money for chemo...

And we eat this sea week kelp so whats your point
KariHaruka
On the subject of using the ocean as a dumping ground. Would China and South Korea like to address the amount of waste that they both dump into the ocean? No? Thought not....
obladi
some data would be helpful. If the water around Fukushima is monitored by third parties and the radiation kept within normal limits, I think everyone can just go back to stressing about other things.
Fighto!
Absolute nonsense.
Making up stories to suit your argument is not helping your cause.

Many experts said that back in 2011.

Frustration? Eat something else then!

Yes, it is all being monitored by the IAEA and independent third party laboratories:
https://www.iaea.org/newscenter/pressreleases/new-report-details-iaeas-independent-checks-of-treated-water-discharge-from-fukushima-daiichi
This is the most studied water release in history. Countries like China that are opposed to it, and banning seafood etc., are doing so for purely political reasons.

The ironic hypocrisy of China and North Korea at its finest.

If your local fish market sold fish mainly caught in Fukushima would you still shop there?
if you see two cuts of fish filet. One from Fukushima and one from a different area. They are identical otherwise. How many of us here would pick the one from Fukushima ?
if the one from Fukushima were 10 yen cheaper. How many of us would pay a little more to avoid Fukushima caught fish?
most of us are rational but we don’t always make rational decision.
isabelle
I would, and do, buy the Fukushima fish to support the people of the region.

Japan is releasing wastewater (not the type from rainwater drains) into the ocean. This is treated nuclear water used to cool their damaged reactors caused by an earthquake over ten years ago. The wastewater contains a radioactive isotope called tritium and who knows what other radioactive traces are being released into our oceans?
Now I don't want to write a story, but please tell me how releasing this poison into our oceans won't affect marine life. I also believe the ocean currents will carry this poison across the entire Pacific Ocean. The entire food chain will be affected. From invertebrates, fish, marine animals, and humans. Scientists were able to detect radioactive elements after the 2011 earthquake as far as California!
There is nothing I can do to stop this, especially when there are governments from other countries expressing their concerns about this. All I'm doing is telling everyone to stay aware and be careful out there...

Mother Earth's surface is devastated by deadly wildfires , earthquakes , super typhoons and flooding .
Now Japan is flooding the World's Oceans with radioactive Fukushima water.
Thank you Nippon!

Fukushima fish is the only one tested.

Japan Today should stop giving these fearmongers and anti-science people a platform to spread misinformation. There should be more articles about how it's perfectly safe to release the water to the ocean. The substance in the water is tritium, which is the radioactive variant of hydrogen. It does not exhibit a tendency to accumulate in living organisms; its behavior is akin to that of regular water. With a half-life of 12.33 years, it will largely decay within this century. Moreover, its impact is minimal when contrasted with the innate radioactivity present in the ocean. Its contribution is a mere fraction of what was introduced through nuclear weapons testing, itself being less than a ten thousandth of the natural radioactive elements in the ocean.
Hiro S Nobumasa
After the Great Fukushima radioactive water dumping the word radioactive is now synonymous with safe.
Jonathan Prin
It is sad that articles with no scientific basis are issued.
Many people don't even understand the concept of radioactivity...
I am always checki g the origin of food my self, and if there is an international food check on what I buy, I am more confident that if they are none. Whatever food or origin.
The fact that Japan is very transparent lifts doubts. Whereas elsewhere, one knows nothing usually and you may eat vegetables grown on a dumpsite !
Garthgoyle
Then stop eating fish.
Or just eat fish caught off the coasts of Pohang-shi, where "Green" Posco is located.

The answer is to read the IAEA reports and follow the results of TEPCO's rearing tests:

Radiation is good for us!
oldman_13
Of course both China and South Korea never let any opportunity to demonize Japan go by, so this was not unexpected. Both petty countries cannot stand to see people worldwide embrace Japanese culture so they'll stoop to any lows.
oldman_13
Just a question. Would you go swimming and diving near the Fukushima waste water dumping site? Or eating the freshly catch fish near there?
Yes or no?
question, would you go swimming in or eat any fish from the polluted Yangtze river, Chinese farm fisheries, or where tritium is released from Chinese power plants?

People don't know seaweeds filter the ocean ?
We need more intellectual members on this forum
Then again i can understand why most of them have left
Fortunately there's real discussion forums elsewhere.
Then why are you here, Mr. Genius?
Justin F. Kayce
You have a better chance of being radiated by eating a few bananas or flying over the Pacific than you do from eating fish from Fukushima. Calm down .
kurisupisu
Radiation is safe when it’s been ingested
Lots of evidence out there showing that?
No?
Case closed then…
