It's an absurd piece .

Desperados will commercialize anything to make a name for themselves or profit in some way.

Hachiko as symbol should not be exploited in such pedestrian ways !!

I attended a comedy show over the weekend, and a Japanese comedian humorously mentioned the instagram V Reality situation of the Hachiko Statue. It's fame doesn't match the moment you actually see the statue. But who am I to Judge.

It's fun because it's an absurd piece. Hachiko is not sacred. Hell, it's a replica!

Nishino was commissioned to put the piece together. Ando's family is supporting the project so let's celebrate the artistry!

Yes, putting the dog in a pink like love hotel room is "art" ...

The dog won a place in the country's heart for showing up at Shibuya Station every day for about 10 years awaiting its master's return from work, even after Ueno's death...

You just can't kill this story for children invented by the Education Ministry controlled by the military regime that required loyalty and obedience to the government that had wars in mind. Doesn't anybody do a fact check on this dog?

Looks cool.

Was Hachiko a better dog than Greyfriars Bobby? They'd certainly never put Bobby in a room, mostly because his statue is squeezed onto the corner of some major intersections.

That's pretty cool. Creative and simple. Not like when they wrap the Arc de Triomphe in bunch of toilet paper.

They should make ol' Hachi in the kitchen next, standing proudly over the remains of a cake he pulled off the counter and onto the floor.

a touch reductive I feel..... whether or not you like the Christo / Jeanne Claude projects, they are considerably creative and complex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiFANXmrltw

over exaggeration and nothing but drama

Other Japanese breeds are better looking and more friendlier than Akita and Shiba.
