Great efforts there. Keep it up. A rare bit of good news for the government these days.

Good news!

Good news but not the whole picture because Japan Inc has so much capacity overseas that it is somewhat obvious that they have a decrease in Japan. Energy intensive Japanese industries are located in China, Vietnam and other countries. Me needs to look at the whole picture and that I’m sorry to say doesn’t look good with CO2 emissions going up and up

If anything, 5% down during a pandemic is a bit disappointing.

I don't think the government is very serious about cutting emissions, or even cutting the reported emissions, but the first 10% or 20% or whatever will be low-hanging fruit which are not worthy of big praise or celebrating as a big achievement. Reducing emissions in sectors and industries that are already very efficient will be much more challenging.

If we all start pulling together, whether its 4% or 10% it does not seem a large amout of Co2, but globally it thousends of tonnes.

The insulation on Japanese houses is pretty non existent so its a good idea to start insulating them.

CO2 still increasing, temperature still steady or decreasing, weather still happening. Nothing to see here.....

""Reflecting smaller energy consumption by companies"

That is the key, and as soon as things go back to normal , where will these emission levels be at??
