I wonder how he feel now after he spend millions on Russia space program to go a space trip, while the rest of the world is trying to sanction that nation.

I’m sure he doesn’t give a toss.

All he cares about is his 15 mins of fame

Japanese billionaire space tourist Yusaku Maezawa is putting one of his Basquiat artworks up for sale, an auction house has said, hoping for around $13 million profit on the piece.

From a Puerto Rican/Haitian American artist living on the street to the mouths of billionaires.

The circle of life?

He’s already had a few hours of fame mate.

Look at me. Look at me.

Not sure I'd pay ¥70 for that, it's hideous

Although I'll never understand how artwork and nfts can demand such high prices, if he is going to make millions in profit on an investment then obviously he's doing something right. That's a solid business investment in my book. I guess that's why the rich become richer. At least he's not making his money by exploiting cheap labor....

An art that is worth even a penny isn't an art.

But art "should be shared so that it can be a part of everyone's lives," he added.

Now that I've made my $13m.

I wouldn't pay one yen for this. Is that just me? I'd rather use that money to help feed starving kids around the world.

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder and something's worth can only be calculated by what someone else is willing to pay for it. If someone does pay $70 million for that thing then that's what it's worth, at that time.

Do you actually do things like that or you're just virtue signaling right now?

If that painting is already $70m. art , then we should consider demanding a few thousands per word for our comments here too. lol

How much did Basquiat himself make selling his works?
