Japanese Judges who prohibited nuclear plants have been demoted or relegated.

Japan never learns. It's not IF it happens again, it's WHEN. And when it does, these judges should be held just as accountable as the companies. I realise that means in Japan they won't be held accountable at all, but it should be stated BEFORE a disaster so that they might hesitate and do what's right for a change on the issue, and not a "we had no way of knowing" later.

This is a tough one. I live in a part of Canada (BC) where hydroelectric power is the common source of electricity. Japan, unlike BC, has no comparable rivers and deep valleys where a new lake can be created behind a huge dam that generates said power. Japan is stuck. Between a rock and a hard place. Solar works, likewise wind power, and I've seen a lot of both in my annual treks around the country. In fact, out of my favorite hotel, six minutes by train from Akita, I watch the sunset across the Sea of Japan, daily, past the turbines across the bay.
But those sources of power are minimal, compared to the need/demand of Japanese society (look at all those lights, at night). So I'd like to know what those people who vent about the ugliness of nuclear power would rather have...brownouts?...rationing?...no seasonal decorative lighting?...what?
