Why can't they deport people in Japan in general as quickly as they did these North Koreans, instead of endlessly keeping them in detention?

"deport" sounds like they wanted to stay. Isn't this a case of "return"?

They could do better.....by deporting ALL the detainees ( abductees) they have at Usiku, ( one of whom committed suicide the other day ) Narita e.t.c. In my eyes , they are not being held incommunicado because they are criminals, or dangerous, but that , their first mistake is that, they are powerless.

Well, for one thing, these North Kireans were not asking for asylum.

They're refusing to leave.

There's a difference between "refusing to leave" and not 'volunteering to leave" because some of those detained are seeking asylum.

@oldman_13

Why can't they deport people in Japan in general as quickly as they did these North Koreans,

Because they wanted to go back to North Korea.

Most asylum seekers want to stay in Japan permanently.
