Under the 'forced sterilization' compensation law, "if the victim or his or her spouse has died, their relatives, including children, grandchildren, or siblings can receive the compensation." Presumably those would be adopted children?

It only took 30 years from 1996 for Japan to realized that and started to compensate those victims.

At least it is being recognized as a huge mistake, even now in some countries there are politicians still claiming some groups have "bad genes" that justify discrimination.
