Are we expecting war ???.

Better to have it and not need it than the other way around, wouldn't you think...?

You may not have read the previous commentator concerning my mention of terrorists. He said no mention, hence my retort. And here I am explaining. No worries, though. How are you?

Yeaaaaah... Sorry for the misunderstanding! How am I? Feeling a little awkward ;-)

Neither does the article mention north korea, but here we are.

Yet the article does mention an anti-missile system, so which nation has been firing missiles in Japan's direction lately...? Do they have to hit you over the head with the words 'North Korea' to make you realize that's one of the threats?

The article does not mention terrorists.

Terrorists are more likely to use bombs concealed in suitcases or suicide vests...unless Japan moved closer to the middle east over night.

Japan is not firing missiles over the Japan Sea in any direction. This is a defensive system.

DPRK (North Korea) has fired over 20 missiles over the East/Japan Sea this year alone. Who has repeatedly threatened to turn Tokyo into a sea of flames? Remind me please. Who is the aggressor?

Are these Japanese leaders clueless, the Olympics are for brotherhood and sisterhood,

No, it's a general anti-terrorism measure.

Glad to see its not only me who realizes that ballistic missiles are a terror weapon despite the fact the clandestine groups usually singled out for being terrorists pretty much can't get their hands on any.

to defend against possible threats such as ballistic missiles, drones and unidentified aircraft.

Surface to air missiles are as old as the hills and their very purpose is to take down aircraft. New and expensive technology is not needed for that purpose whatsoever. As for drones, they must mean the large ones operated by militaries and once again I will point out that the clandestine groups usually singled out for being terrorists don't have them.

But anyway, this is all just thinly veiled excuses to spend our tax money on war toys.

So, there is concern about N. Korea, China, or Russia launching a missile attack on Tokyo during the Olympic games...while the athletes of those countries are competing in the games?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

With the coming 2020 Olympics, Japan will likely use that opportunity to flex its military muscle even for just a little. Because why not, you're already in the limelight anyway, might as well make the most of it (I'm not being sarcastic here, okay).

Britain also deployed missile defense systems for the Olympic Games in London in 2012.

It's the just world we live in.

Joke, Olympics isn't a battle field, it is just a game.

And the World Trade Center was just a building and Charlie Hebdo was just a newspaper. Unfortunately, some people don't agree with you.
