expat, sometimes the truth is unpalatable for some. It's a product that isn't produced by JA and the introduction of the product will obviously cause confusion as it's more convenient and what people actually want. Leaving the old men in charge with a teeth sucking conundrum. They are unable to supply butter regularly but get their regular Salerys. Now it turns out other countries can fill the vacuum for a whole host of products traditionally viewed as treats in Japan but normal outside of these chains of atolls.

This was one of ideas pushed by Tokyo Governor, Yuriko Koike, for some time now and finally moving the nation. A good job, Koike-san.

Excellent news, and will definitely be quite popular with fathers I assume

Don't get me wrong.... but why is the Japan Dairy Ind. Assoc., making this statement? Shouldn't a Government Organization make it.

So they can find some minor fault with it, declare it as unsafe, and continue on with its protectionist practices.

Thanks to the ease of preparation, the product is also expected to prove popular with fathers and lead to them feeding their children more often.

What a classically naive Japanese statement. This whole country is run on urban myths, false idealistic images of grandeur and stereotypical judgements. I'm not sure whether I should laugh or cry.

Awesome. Well, by the time this is all approved i guess we wont need it anymore, but it would make it easier to plan a day out with our kid.

another case of "this is Japan you do not understand our culture."

Brings back memories of the milk thermometer, getting the temp just right.... But, yeah, we were out of water for a week here in Kumamoto after the quakes and gas for two or three. Drinking water in bottle form was available, but no showers - and flushing the toilet was difficult. Add all this up and liquid baby formula just makes complete sense.

Totally agree. Not that hard to put however many level spoons of formula into the appropriate amount of water. Had to do it every night for all three kids, wife suffered from mastitis on all three occasions. Just like making a cup of coffee. But then again, generations thought differently, certainly were not a lot of fathers that helped around the home back in the 'good ol days.'

The most sexist sentence I have read on the site. Men are equally able to make baby milk thank you very much!

So... according to the Japan Dairy Industry Association, which is probably who would lose business the most if Finnish companies sell their product in Japan, it will take at least one year before products are available in Japan. Don't get me wrong.... but why is the Japan Dairy Ind. Assoc., making this statement? Shouldn't a Government Organization make it.
