People will disagree, but stuff like this is the reason that Japan needs a larger military. No telling when things will get worse, but being prepared will help Japan have leverage on these and future incursions.

Japan jet scrambles against Chinese planes hit record this summer

Wow. Sensational!

Japan jets scrambled 117 times, up from 103 in the same period of last year, although it was lower than the all-time high of 164 times recorded in the final quarter of 2014.

Who cares if the headline's economical with the truth. We have a country to save!

It was not immediately clear why the number of scrambles rose and the ministry did not offer an explanation.

But we accepted their soundbite anyway.

Wrong, you have it backwards. Chinese have been causing this trouble for a long time

when did Japan threaten its neighbors? Air incursions by China is a threat to Japan

I agree with Moon1,

Tibet, East Turkmenistan, The South China Sea... Really.. Need I say more?

China develops nukes over 50 years ago, points them at Japan, claims to feel threatened by Japan, and drops massive number of bills into their military industrial complex, overturns the geopolitical power-balance, still accuses Japan of being a military threat, and Goodlucktoyou agrees. LOL A hateimus Japonicus if I ever seen one.

. China should train their pilots on how to navigate so they avoid going into other countries air space.

How many times have China scrambled their jets against Japanese planes? Or Russia scrambled their jets against Japanese planes? Anybody know offhand?

It's interesting that so many are spending all their time commenting on Yaskuni shrine "Japan shouldn't do that boo hoo" and they just really miss the important stuff. China can invade Japan airspace 117 times in 3 months and there's only 8 or 9 comments and 60 odd for Yaskuni. Tells me a lot about the readers on here.
