I guess those 2,000 dead Pigs in that river near Shanghai had nothing to do with it?

Nah, it can't be China's "Clean Air" & "Clean Sanitary Water" breaking out all these diseases?

ALL Diseases come from China: SARS, H1N1, H7N9, Ecoli, Communism - ALL Diseases.

Coming back from SE Asia I felt fine-the next day I was running a temperature. If there is an outbreak os something deadly it will pretty much be unstoppable.

@The_True: Conspiracy theories / paranoia aside, some of the reasons that SARS, H5N1, and now H7N9 originated in China are reported to include few governmental livestock handling / farming (and health related) regulations, and very lax enforcement of those that do exist. This may be a more likely reason for the outbreaks than a secretive group of extremely powerful people creating a deadly new virus and spreading it through Chinese livestock with the goal of wiping out 80% of world population.

Strangely enough, the picture of the day is of birds..... are they trying to install a subconcious connection through fear ?

Viruses can mutate. From time to time they also swap genetic material with other viruses via reassortment. While human to human transmission might not be observed now, it would be premature to discount human to human transmission in the near future.

A world epidemic has been predicted for many many years by scientists and this could be the one to spread, in one form or another. Staying alert and self preparedness is something everyone can do. To disregard the story as meaningless is a mistake. Also it is one of the few stories I read on JapanToday that has substance and news worthy.

This is really scary, specially for those who were here during the SARS outbreak. I remember how erratic people can behave during such crisis and I don't want to see that again. I hope WHO will deal with this new strain soon.

During the SARS outbreak, a lot of the first responders from WHO and the emergency personnel in the hospitals treating the first infected fell victim of the virus and many perished. These occasional and also vocational heroes have my admiration for their bravery and professionalism!
