It’s not Japan that giving away free money. It’s the government and what do they expect to get out of this aiding? Support from turkey when China and Russia decided to fire rockets at Japan?

For all its faults, and they are many and substantial, Turkey has traditionally be generous with disaster aide to other nations. Returning the favor in a circle of virtue is entirely appropriate.

Given the scale of the tragedy and the size of its own economy, this seems a bit on the "Azerbaijan"-side to me.
Seriously? 50k dead (and rising), upwards of a million who will need to be re-homed at some point and THUS is the best Japan can do?
