Of course they will not appeal the court ruling. 500k yen is peanuts. And people are silent about it because it is an embarrassment to them. If the Kyoto sensei or Kocho sensei was not of them, they would be all over it. They would rather talk about a fantasy crime or gossip about something trivial than deal with the reality that there are many people like this in their midst.

There shouldn’t be any compensation since school has taken action on this incident. It’s like government is paying compensation for an individual wrongful behaviour even though school acted against it.
