Why do they mention G7? Oh I forgot, we are only there to get oil and stop Russia/China doing business there.
Clay
That's right Rodney, G-7 exploitation, that's the good kind after all, China and others, they're EVIL!
Mark
UAE, Saudi Arabia, USA, Russia, Egypt, Russia, China, Turkey and more are involved in this fight.
This is not the Sudanese war, there is more to it than been reported.
WA4TKG
Better to have not been there in the first place.
didou
officially, how many J citizens in Sudan.
Not a bunch I can imagine
OssanAmerica
No need to imagine if you actually read the article before posting something.
"About 60 Japanese nationals were in Sudan as of Wednesday, Matsuno told reporters"
Fighto!
Not sure why Ossan received a down vote.
He provided an answer to a really dumb question by someone who doesn't read the articles.

No, the conflict is between two top Generals both of whom want to rule Sudan. Here is an excellent article that explains the conflict.

While there are certainly foreign firms and governments who perceive they have a stake in the outcome such as Egypt, who supports the Sudan military, Saudi and UAE who seem to support the RSF, Russia who wants to continue skimming off oil profits and smuggling gold and is playing both sides for the middle, and China who wants to protect their own oil interests and sell arms to the Sudan military, none of these factors are the root cause of this war. It is very strictly a power struggle between the leaders of two entities formed by the former long time dictator Omar al-Bashir. The article in the link explains it very well.

When America smelt the substances of oil, there were the places of chaos and civil war. Sudan has been a criticized by America when civil war erupted 20 years ago. OIL was the only reason to fight for, America wants to steal their oil fields!

That’s simply a double no-go zone right from the beginning, something one should have learned at Junior high school or been told from parents and grandparents. And that evacuation? It’s very dangerous and some other countries, better equipped or nearer to the scene have already cancelled or postponed such attempts. Anyway, good luck, you’ll need it there.

The problem with that claim is that the oil companies that dominate Sudan are the state owned Sudapet, China National Petroleum Corporation (over 40% of production), Petronas (Malaysia), SINOPEC (China) and Tri-Ocean Energy (Egypt), There are no western oil companies operating in Sudan.

Japan has diplomatic relations with Sudan, just as most other nations do. Diplomats don't always get posted to nice safe places. They are there to do a job and accept the risks inherent in some postings knowing their government will come to their aid if things turn pear shaped. The article does not say if the people being evacuated are the families of diplomatic staff or staff that is considered to be less necessary in light of the current threat.

Japanese citizens are on their own if you are to judge Japan's citizen extraction performance by Afghanistan.

Japan has a military base very close by in Djibouti from which to mount the effort. The JMSDF has a facility on the northwest corner of a big airfield shared with the US, France, India and possibly some other nations. If you Google Earth the base you will often see a JMSDF P-3C Orion or two on the ramp next to their hanger.

...there are always foreign influences all the way to direct weapons supplies.
China! And its financial backers, Wall St in the late nineties, now Euro oil, Euri arms as well.

They are all trying to protect their investments by shoring up a dictator.
As for G7 - good luck with that, no one dares upsetting China.

You are getting your civil wars confused. South Sudan is a separate nation that gained independence from Sudan years ago, then fought it's own internal civil war, What is happening in Sudan today is a separate matter. The RSF was formed by the former Sudanese dictator after South Sudan gained independence .

Who would move INTO the Sudan in the first place?
