It is amazing how slow it is moving here.

I'm glad we don't have any big events coming up within the next few months.....

Meanwhile the US routinely vaccinates 2 million plus per day. This is an embarrassment.

I hate to complain about those in charge, who seem to be trying to do the right thing, but they do seem awful slow in getting folks vaccinated.

From what I have read, they seem to be very strict on who can do the jabbing. I wish they would allow retired medical professionals, pharmacists, med students and the medical personnel from the SDF administer the vaccines.

The strict adherence to guidelines does seem to be the Japanese way of doing things, but I wish they would make an exception just once when people's lives are at stake.

MRNA vaccines like this one have been (unsuccessfully) trying to get FDA approval for the best part of 20 years.

In Seattle I went to the Amazon "supervax". From the parking lot on, there was a volunteer every 30 feet. After entering the main building the first stop was a temperature check, and then several "ticket takers" to confirm appointments. I got a wristband to indicate I was a legal entry. There were distancing markers all the way along the adjustable queue lanes, leading to several pre-shot consultation and questionnaire stations. Another volunteer directed me to one of around 50 injection stations, the available ones waving little flags. I had another brief consultation, got any remaining questions answered, a jab, a card with a vaccine lot number sticker in the "first dose" box, and a sticker showing the time (15 minutes later) I could leave, then was directed to the waiting area, featuring a large clock. Then more volunteers and signage showing the way out. There was even a staffed "selfie station" with a large sign saying: "I got my vaccine!" All in, it was an hour.

The only tricky part was various outlets having separate reservation websites, but I think they've been consolidated by now.

That Lancet paper is very encouraging. In their concluding remarks, they mention: " Getting people with severe mental illness vaccinated is not expected to pose any problems as they overwhelmingly view vaccines favourably."

Britain inoculated some 844,000 people. in one day! and regularly it's half a million and more.

J- govt will consider setting up panel of experts to study Britain,s method, the report should take no longer than 6 months to release. But as everyone knows Japanese arms are thinner than Europeans and those needles mighty long, so....

I think there are 130,923 bottles if you count 5 shoots(doses) per bottle.

Pfizer was selling at 5 doses bottles.

And then some genios found a way to extract 6 doses per bottle.

Does stir crazy count as a psychiatric disorder?

I am an over 65 writing for my vaccination. Clearly the way things are going I will be lucky to get by Autumn or even before the next winter. Medical people I know who are supposed to get it before we under 65s still haven't heard a thing. Will they even get it by summer or at least Autumn!

And as for the bulk of the population obviously not before 2022, maybe by the winter then, maybe.

As of 2021-03-19, 578,835 people have been inoculated.

553,454 have received their first dose, 25,381 have received their second dose.

I had negative review to my post above, but my question was far from being stupid.

If a bottle provide 6 doses or 6 shots, then something is wrong with the math: 654615/6=109102.5

So it is not correct, or if someone could explain ?

We don't know how many people have been vaccinated so far and what's the daily progress.

It should be published right along with the daily number of infections, deaths and discharged people.

I received my J&J single-dose vaccine at Yokosuka three days ago. Thanks, Navy. No side affects. What a load off of my mind.

So we now go from 126 years to vaccinate all residents of Japan down to 4.7 years - I like progress!

So a month into it and fewer than 0.5 percent of the population have been jabbed. We'll be lucky to reach 50 percent by the end of 2021! So another year of no international travels and not being able to see family and friends back home. What a bummer!
