Japan will avoid the basic things that need to boost mental health which are less working overtime, work life balance, social life etc. However Japan still try to find a shortcut for all of those necessities.

I think the Beach Boys put forward this idea with their seminal work - Good Vibrations.
This was encapsulated by the defining result of their arduous work -
