This is just China's way of opening up to the West, given all our money invested into that country. /sarcasm

Japan’s foreign ministry on Sunday told its Chinese counterpart the demand was “unacceptable,” a ministry official told AFP.

Hilarious, so Japan believes it unacceptable that China tells it what to do in its own EEZ. Funny not so long ago Japan entered not only another nations EEZ but their territorial waters and basically said bad luck. To sets of rules hey Japan

Agree, Cletus. They want to have their cake and eat it, too.

You know... one day Japan will re-qrtie their constitution and re-arm... they can use their technology to rebuild credibility in theor abilities to defend themselves and their nation's interests, right?? Or is that too much to ask from all the femininie cross dressing woamn wannabes "men" in this country??.... Hahaha, what a laugh!! seriously though, Jaoan needs to stand tough in China's eyes otherwise we'll all be speaking Chinese here!!!

Ooops, sorry for the typo!!

Japan has no resources and no personnel to rearm. It's going to take more than Japan has just to keep its aging population in nappies.

I'm always amazed at how many people get this backwards. Anybody can have cake and then eat it. What you CAN'T do is eat your cake and then have it - unless you consider it sitting in your stomach to be "having it".

What's so hilarious Cletus? Did some Japanese ship tell an Australian Maritime Safety Authority ship what to do in Australian EEZ waters? For that matter did the Australian government even order the Japanese ship out? Let me help you, the answer is "no" to both questions.

Let me put this as simply as possible as you seem to have missed the news of late, you say "did the Australian government even order the Japanese ship out"? Yes they did, not only did the PM and AG ask the ship to leave they also asked the J government to ensure the ship didnt enter in the first place. But you should know that as it was even reported on this site. So the J government is happy to send its coast guard manned vessels into another nations waters against their protests and demands yet whines like a little baby when someone does it to them. So yes Ossan its hilarious the double standards of the Japanese, and heres hoping they cope a lot more of it. Just desserts l say.

@Cletus: Just let it be...the whole world just nobody respect Japan's calls. Japan lived in an hostile enviroment that she created by her own due to wartime conducts and japan shall never pay respects to other countries when their trawler hunting whales throughout the south pacific that brought the 'sea shepherds' shadowing their ships! China is jut doing her job to protect her interest especially when someone claiming their share of east sea gas fields without legitimacy but an orgy of false claiming. If Japan owns the sovereignity over the east sea gas fields why didnt they explored it by their own back in 1970s? There was nothing more to explain Japan's attempts: Greeds. The tension of iran and the war looming in middleeast that triggared gas prices soaring and of course Japan's greeds! Just like their hunting of whales in the name of 'scientific reserach purposes'! Japan is playing a very dangerous game when she knows her influences over America and the western world is declining!

Japan needs the gas and it is OUR waters much closer to Okinawa than China. There will not be a war unless China starts one and it is a war they can not win. The more I read these posts the more I understand why the Imperial Japanese Government went to war.
