Then I shall boycott Daimaru. Israel is a sovereign state and protecting itself just as Japan would. Shalom

Quote: Yoshihiro Yakushige, a member of a pro-Palestinian group, said he and fellow activists are not trying to cause stores to go out of business. "We just want Japanese consumers to think more carefully about where products are coming from," he said.
Er, right. Well, if that is true, let's have some Palestinian wine on the shelves too.

Boycott all Israeli products.

Would you buy anything from occupied...say Poland!, or Manchuria? Israel is a sovereign state but the occupied lands are not part of that state.
Vince Black
Stop with the Israel bashing. They're doing what they have the right to do for the greater good.
katsu78
Let's be realistic: threats to boycott Daimaru here are meaningless because no one young enough to use the Internet actually shops there in the first place.
Cricky
There doing what they have a right to do.....as Rome did? Banishing all the peoples for 1800 years, wouldn't buy their wine either.
Raw Beer
Under Israeli law!
But according to international law: no!
Anyway, I don't particularly care whether a product comes from illegally occupied territories or not, since I have long boycotted Israeli products.

It's the sabbath today, should have run this story when people of the Hebrew faith are able to respond. That's not fair.

Calling their brand 'Naturael" was a pretty bold (and imo silly) move in the first place. Better try to fly under the radar if you're selling 'made in Israel" products overseas. Very few international (and non-Jewish) customers would buy a wine 'because' it comes from Israel let alone the Golan Heights. I know i wouldn't.

Well done. Keep it up Japan

Well said. Me too. Daimaru, a stupid thing to do. Sayonara.
Netgrump
Shalom? Means 'peace' which is not really the case in and around Israel isn't it :)

I really don't know if you are joking. Only a tiny minority of Jews follow such extreme interpretations of their faith.

Looks like AIPAC will soon have a new branch,....JIPAC.

That hidden card in the sleeve.
Yes, like the killing of those Palestinians recently, as they are Semitic too.

I expected better from Japan. Ignorance manifest. And those of you who criticize...have you ever been there? Have you ever lived there? Do you have a clue about history. I suspect the answer is "no." To be expected from the crowd who posts here. Again, ignorance manifest!!

Good on Daimaru.

Israeli folks, take a lesson from what's going on in the rest of the World to understand the sentiment being expressed here. When certain people make derogatory comments upon others based on color of skin, or religion, they quickly find themselves without a platform from which to continue making such remarks, or even find themselves distanced from those who once supported their activities.
If you treat others like trash, then don't ask questions why other people don't think so highly of you.
Consider a bit of disputed land between my neighbor and I, in an attempt to show peacefulness, my neighbor walls it off saying lets leave it alone, a year later he's extended his orchard into the walled off area and now claims it as his own. I cant even pick up the apples that fall my side of the fence, as he claims they are his... even though they grew on the bit of land we both dispute ownership over. Later on, he moves the boundary of the fence to cover the place where the apples fell, saying that this would resolve the issue of apple ownership. Only to find the next year, apple trees planted in that area.
I still haven't had a seen an answer yet, why antisemitism laws need to exist, when we have so many other anti- laws in place.

Israel is a sovereign state but the Golan Heights is illegally occupied by Israel and against UN resolutions. Just as apartheid was ended by sanctions, boycotts and international pressure, so the same should be applied to Israel. Boycott any product from Israel until it relinquishes the occupied lands and stops using Palestinians as target practice.
Ah_so
Yes. Good day to log on and discuss Israel as there is nothing else to do. A handful won't due to their interpretation if an iron age book but that doesn't mean the rest of can't.

daimaru boss is an idiot, i hope they get slammed elsewhere
Alex Einz
Golan is an israel land, just like Gaza is.. it was won fairly in war Israel didnt start....
you also welcome to tell brits to get the hell out of wales or all the Europeans out of US if you go that path...
Alex Einz
and most people commenting here most likely cant afford to buy wine from daimaru haha, enjoy your non disputed alpaca
nandakandamanda
Alex, the Welsh are Brits. (Perhaps you are referring to those of Anglo, Danish and Saxon heritage?)
zichi's example above rang true for me. "Japan owns the Northern Territories and not Russia." It's a question of perspective and emotion. Most people in Russia do not give a damn about the southern Kuriles, as they describe them. But most Japanese would probably not buy marine produce from around there as long as Russia is controlling the islands.
The Golan Heights are probably being held by Israel as another bargaining chip for any future serious negotiations with a non-aggressive neighbour.

Sell them online.
