Russian people have no say in their lives,as regard to while under Putin,Nyet

A war should be happening in Russia, not Ukraine. The true revolution against the authoritarian regime in Russia should have already happened. How in the world did the "good people" in Russia allow this monster to rise and thrive to the point of ultimate destruction?
dbsaiya
Use your Russian skills to counter the propaganda. She said, "Russian people should not be considered evil because of the actions of their leaders." Yes, that is correct, but surveys reveal that 80% of Russians support Putin. How many of the 80% actually support and how many are only saying that out of fear? The moral and existential dilemma for Russians are similar to what Germans faced during the Nazi regime. Protest and die or end up in a concentration camp.

They can use their language skills to assist the evacuated refugees that recently entered Japan.
And Japanese people should also not be descrimimated because of the decisions of its government.
As Japanese public don't really have much choice living in a false democracy either.

The world will overcome this UGLY war, Putin will someday depart and a new and prosperous Russia will emerge. This is NOT Russia Vs. Ukraine or the west it's all about a TYRENT who is terrified of Democracy at his door step

@Eastman: Because maybe no one forced them? Or possibly their home university in Japan asked them to come back if they were on an exchange program.

@stormcrow: I think it's not that simple. The Russian government is controlling people's thoughts by blocking access to non-government approved news and imprisoning those who disagree with them publicly. It is very similar to the situation in China now. The Russian people deserve our pity.

You do know that only 30% of Ukrainians speak Russian, and would most likely evacuate to Russia.
Baradzed
Russians people are responsible for what is happening with Russia. But speaking of support evaluations, in a dictatorship, we can’t just simply ask a person about his/her opinion and expect an honest answer. We should look at 80% from the perspective that 20% speak against the war despite possible repressions.
Moskollo
It will take a generation to forgive the Russian people for burying their heads in the sand while their soldiers rape and pillage their way through the Ukraine..
Kabukilover
Putin's regime is not controlling the thoughts of the Russian people who hate his needless war. It's the actions of the police that are intimidating them. What is Putin's sentence for dissent? Fifteen years. There are already 15000 dissenters in jails around Russia. We have not seen this since anything like this since Stalin's gulags. And remember that this horror is happening under capitalism.
Down with Putin.
Wakarimasen
Nice sentiments. Not sure it will achieve much though. Once war starts the ability of cultural or similar soft ties to influence almost disappears.
Kabukilover
Still, it's good to know which side you are on.
Mr Kipling
First line....
No, they were not forced to leave, they chose to leave.
Olegek
I was greatly intrested... but...
Forced? Hm...
Nope... Russia live the same life...
only TV news changed
Lord Dartmouth
So what would you be doing in their shoes, hero?
Olegek
No, thank you
To answer on this question, you should examine not only Ukrainian position in this conflict.
Are you sure that Japanese understand much more in Russia than Russians? Are you absolutely sure?
Yes, the problem is that exactly Russian people take decisions, not foreigners. And Russian today support Putin decision at operation in Ukraine. Why? Very good question. But a little bit to late to ask this.
Your position guys is funny: Russian are bad, but Russian should follow your recommendations…
ClippetyClop
'operation', sure it is. An operation gone horribly wrong.
Nobody cares what Russian people support or don't support. Thanks to multi-billionaire kleptocrat state thief & mass murderer Putin, Russian's will live in increasing poverty & decreasing freedom.
We had such hope for Russia 30 years ago, but it seems they prefer the 16th century to the 21st.
