It is unfortunate that in space we have to worry about other Earth-bound nations. Just surviving in space is hard enough, now we have to worry about being attacked by other Earthlings?

I agree with this opinion because I wouldn’t like to disappoint the children who will be active in the future due to adult selfish reasons. According to the news, “Against such a backdrop, Japan, together with its allies and like-minded nations, will aim to maintain stable use of and free access to outer space, the source said. To maximize the utilization of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, Japan will further cooperate with the private sector, according to the source. The country will also speed up information transmission by using small satellite constellations and improve its analysis of images through AI to detect Chinese hypersonic weapons and North Korean ballistic missiles, the source said. Separately, the government will create a strategy unveiling targets for the acquisition of technologies required for space development and help support companies and their domestic production of key components, the source said. Japan will also aim to participate in the Combined Space Operations Center in California, where the United States, Britain, Australia and Canada jointly monitor space debris.” I hope a world where no one gets hurt and I don’t think we should use technological advances for warfare.

Japan should team up with SK, TW, US, AUS, India and VN on this and other projects to guard against China, NK and Russia. Cold war for sure, as willed by those three rogue states.

first you need to build a good rocket to be in pair say with DPRK at least...

So that moon rover hasn’t really crushed but will now fight attackers of intelligence-gathering satellites and also shoot on potential targets in enemy territory including missile bases? Or how else do I have to imagine that now?

Their rocket sucks!

China is launching plenty of civilian and certainly some military satellites. Just playing catch up

Satellite by country:

2,804 - USA

467 - China

168 - Russia

93 - Japan

Citation needed. Don't be jealous that China has already successfully launched 20 orbital missions already this year. Japan is 1 for 2 in 2023.

as China and Russia are increasingly utilizing space for military purposes
