Ireland is sending 700 oxygen concentrators to India as part of an emergency donation.

The devices draw oxygen from the air and deliver it to the patient at over 90% concentration.

So SimpleFacts, how much did the Japanese government pay you to defend it?

I guess then that India has been through there national holiday lockdown and everyone complied, no one was drinking either.

And japan has 300 spare oxygen machines it doesnt seem to need because bach is coming and miracles well you know , what a wonderful world we have isnt it, unicorns and rainbows all over the place.

"300? Did somebody forget a zero or two?

and

A tiny speck compared with the need,"

and what are you doing to help India? ???????

"They should send them to Osaka indeed. It is a nice thing to help India but you need to protect your own people before starting to help others."

Really, so I guess you dont mind if all the Japanese go first for the jabs, then foreigners last or do you think it should go by age and medical condition?

"Japan told Osaka hospitals and doctors that there are no more respirators, and it would take at least 3 months to order, "

and where is the link to back up that statement?

For those who doesn't know, sending that amount is already considered a lot. Even the UK, France and US can only send around that amount too.

Currently India death toll everyday is in the thousand because they are lacking oxygen. It's normal to send aid to deal with such a huge crisis that every country has to send aid to deal with the crisis and prevent another more deadly mutation from happening. Japan might be lacking manpower but we haven't reach the stage yet where people are dying due to lack of oxygen yet.

Let’s hope we don’t need them here...

Okay ... So Japan has respirators and oxygen concentrators .

Good to know ... I suppose .. A bit confused with the latest SoE logic however !

Better than nothing, every support needed and welcomed. But also ensure that they wash their hands when coming back from that virus hell.

Does seem odd there were 300 sitting idle when hospitals are already stretched even with the government dodgy figures and down playing the extent of infections.

EvilBuddha

All countries should stop all aid to India until and unless the Modi government takes some concrete steps to address the rise in cases.

I can understand your sentiment. I heard that Goa CM (Chief Minister, like Prime Minister for a state) says there is no need for a lockdown, but his health minister disagrees.

However, the people on the ground are suffering and they aren't making policy. They are just dying. I'm sure any aid will be useful and they can vote out the politicians later.

A tiny speck compared with the need, but I guess anything helps

As others have said: Japan take care of your own first! Anyway, the Indian variant is here, and apparently japanese people lack the ability to fight it off compared to others. Best prepare for it. I think the Indian variant will spell the end of the Olympics.

"Kato also said Japan will consider additional aid for India depending on the virus situation in the country."

Meanwhile, the government has said there are no more of such things available domestically as doctors complain about the collapse of the system, and they have no funds to help people stay afloat.

All countries should stop all aid to India until and unless the Modi government takes some concrete steps to address the rise in cases. Take care of your own citizens first instead of wasting your precious supplies on a country where life is cheap, people give priority to their religious beliefs over hard scientific facts and which elects a megalomaniac leader whose only priority is to win elections when his own countrymen are dropping dead like flies gasping for air.

300? Did somebody forget a zero or two?

It's a gesture, something more politico-strategic than purely altruistic though I believe that the move is meaningful. Alongside, local Suzuki factories are starting to mass-produce oxygen equipment. The QUAD alliance is now being tested.

They should send them to Osaka indeed. It is a nice thing to help India but you need to protect your own people before starting to help others.

Japan needs to save them for themselves. They will be needing them after the Olympics! Is the Gov't going to tell the citizens later they have no Oxygen because they gave it all away?

Japan told Osaka hospitals and doctors that there are no more respirators, and it would take at least 3 months to order, yet they managed to find them to send to India???
