Africa is a very rich wealthily continent more wealthier then Australia. No don,t give them money. It about time Africa got it act together. Instead of producing resources they produce Terrorist. No money in that, so they used what intellect they have and dig up the ground instead of religion hostilities.

For your information.terrorism is the boogeyman Japan and co is using as a reason to have their JSDF and other NATO allies to secure and pacify the continent to rip-off African resources. Ever wondered why just when all other parts of the world are in dire economic doldrums and suddenly " Terrorists" have sprung all over Africa? And everyone suddenly has this new found interest to " help" Africans and one thing they seem to want to send in abundance is their arm-twisters ( Military). The US has AFRICOM, the french legionaires are all over, Germans and French in Mali and West Africa and Everyone else in Djibouti. I will tell you for free, the " Terrorists" are actually the Chinese and Russians who are to be stopped, at all costs if need be, from getting any morsels of African resources, Terrorism is the ruse to Militarize Africa as part of the bigger world-wide geo-political and economic supremacy Wars Chess board. China has done very well for itself in Africa. Japan, always the late comer is frenetically trying to up its game to get a bigger bite.

Spend $120 million now, get the nod for $5 billion in mining concessions next year. Africa receives no free lunches. That's why their population are still so poor.

It is marketing, pure and simple. Develop relationships (though a bit behind the curve), and hope that locals will look favourably and behave kindly when it comes to business. JICA and JICE have been doing this for years, under the guise of AID programmes, usually sponsored by pharmaceutical or electronic manufacturers, who hope for future sales.

Japan to spend $120 million on corrupt rulers lavish lifestyles in Africa.

A complete waste of money----would be better spent on looking after the homeless people living and sleeping in parks in Japan!

What about the surging costs the 2020 games are facing? Japan shouldn't be sending, not even 1¥, to Africa.

How about spending the money to make sure any Muslim allowed to enter Japan (who should be vetted and their visa application analyzed for 5 years minimum) for business or tourism (yeah, right) are followed 24/7 during their stay?

What now? What about spending the money to build a few day cares or something?

That would require logical thinking. Not possible with these people

Half truth news as always.

Yep, if you spend a few minutes on the internet you'll find what's really going on: vast sums to international pariahs like Mugabe in Zimbabwe.

"At the news conference, Mugabe invited Japanese companies to invest heavily in his country, which is rich in such minerals as gold, platinum and nickel. He said Japanese firms can take advantage of special economic zones in the country".

i could be wrong but that money could be better spent towards helping Japanese citizens who are struggling but hey what do I know. Also I highly doubt that Japan is just DONATING that much money out of the mere kindness of their hearts and expect nothing in return .

Half truth news as always.

And what will Japan expect in return from African nations? Force them to purchase of weapons, goods from Japan?

Counter terrorism is not charity business at least in real world if not in media world.
