"What was your major in college?" "Oh I studied Ninja!"
Hell of a conversation starter!

Its an MA program, not undergraduate, so it would be a 1 or 2 year degree, not 4. Really its just a history degree but with a research focus on ninja history. A lot of universities offer hyper specialized grad courses like that which might only have a handful of students.

“4 years to become a stunt person “
As the professor said, it’s a course to learn about the ninja, not to become one.

C'mon really? Their biggest mistake was revealing that they awarded this degree to begin with!
"First rule of ninja studies..."

When the pandemic is over, I wonder how many foreigners will apply for student visas to this place. And by the way, Mie is not the only place where Ninja trained in the old days: Togakushi village in Nagano also claims bragging rights. I went there once, to eat locally produced soba noodles. Nobody attacked me.

As valuable a degree as basket weaving.

There is a market demand for ninjas at tourist spots.

Thesis to consider for a PhD in Jinja studies:
1) Sneak into PM Abe's house and shave his cat as proof
2) Break into the White House and get a bottle of Trump's hair spray
3) Steal the nuclear secrets from North Korea and leave Kim Jong Un with a black eye

"Can a Ninja attack you from long distance?" "Shuriken!!!!"

I wonder how much CIA or MI6 value a Master of Arts in ninja in recruitment scenes...

It is kind of ironic that they chose Ninja studies as a way of drawing attention to their university, isn’t it?

Oh no, here come the nerds

The question is: is this degree available online?

History, fitness, and agriculture all wrapped into one! (With bonus secret arts!)

There is a picture of a man chopping wood... So the ninja way is one chop splits the wood into 18 pieces? There must be some special reason for that photo I assume... Can't possible be just normal wood chopping, one swing one split...

Nin Japanese means Body and Jutsu as you all may know is Technique. Ninjustu is the art of mastering your body, now in practical terms this means learning how to jump and fall rolling forward, rolling backwards, self balance and many other topics. But the main point to convey here, is that Ninjutsu is not a martial art. Ninjutsu is the study of old Japanese warfare techniques, including the Ninja. It has been criticized by many people Japanese and non Japanese on the learning and practice of this fighting technique. And after so many movies bad one and good ones, I understand it does not really rhyme well with a major in an University. But is taught in special military units in US and other countries. I love Japan's culture and I think this is part of it and no need to think bad of it, sure we can make jokes, but this at one point in time in history of Japan did actually exist and is still practiced Today globally.

Ninjas were hired assassins, not heroes...

Manwhile the Chinese have developed the first quantum entangled satellite connection. Such soft 'cultured' wastes of time and energy like this is why Japan continues to fall behind Korea, China, Taiwan, etc. The same goes with singing and dancing to 'teach' English.

The weeaboos down-voted this comment haha!
Of course, ninjas are very respectable individuals in manga, martial arts movies and other fantasies...
Classic! Best comment of the day!

Continuation.
Also, why is he using an axe? His head or hand or even..... his testicals to chop the wood! Or maybe just looking at it for a long time and concentrate all the ninja powers to BOOM and split the wood in to chopsticks...

This looks interesting. Ninja were basically an early version of the Green Beret or Navy SEALS. Special Ops, Intelligence gathering etc.
Do the hustle
That may very well be so, but it’s not a university major. It’s a hobby!

A hair salon that opens on the same street as 10 others gets more demand than that.
