Japanese adventurer to embark on unassisted solo trek to South Pole

No problems with polar bears down there, only a few pesky penguins. Of course this could also possibly be some type of clandestine whale reconnaissance.

Wish him luck, but we've heard this before only to have the emergency search crews come to the rescue.
