Push the LDP to ratify the TPNW and to recognize ICAN before trying to convince the world.

Not going to happen, time to let it go

Very romantic way of thinking about the world..

In a perfect world, there would be no weapons of mass destruction, however we live in a world where it's a fact that if you have "the bomb", you don't get invaded

There's not much else to say

Nobel Peace Prize gives fresh impetus to disarmament push

Fantasy thinking there, it's unfortunate that JAPAN was ground zero for 2 wartime detonations which ushered in the new era of delivering mass destruction. Nothing can be done about that, memorials and speeches and first hand accounts, sure those are impactful and create a sense of remorse and sorrow, but that is it, that is all. Countries that hold Nuclear Weapons will not relinquish the power to project it's might, Nuclear is here to stay, the only way total disarmament occurs is if there is an exchange at which point it will not matter who pushed first.

This is very cold, but only a hand few care about your suffering, your plight and angst do nothing to help the economic strain the world is under now, yet here you are adding to that strain just so your voice can be heard! War is dirty it's not fair, it's down right nasty. Maybe your focus should be on electing individuals who don't want war, who want economic stability, who want peace. Instead of crying about it why did you not run for office and try to attain a postion to where you may have had more meaningful impact.

Didn’t the LDP recently allow USA to host nuclear weapons on bases the US occupies in Japan?

There is a lot of room for negotiating to reduce the risk of war, both conventional and nuclear. The glass is half ____.

The organization has just been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Tess. Or were you not paying attention?

time to let it go

Meaning 'Nothing to see here, nothing to learn? ' 仕様がない?

Good for him but disarmament is just a fantasy.

Good for him

Yeah, good for him for surviving. Not good for those who didn't. Thanks for reducing the matter to its irreducible elements.

fresh impetus to disarmament push

This is phantasy. There is no push for nuclear disarmament. To the contrary, many countries are lining up to go nuclear, last but not least to avoid the fate of Libya and Iraq.

Only Iran is scared of that and you aren't much a fan of them I imagine.

This group do valuable work in telling us about the horror of nuclear attack.

I also support Hiroshima having a "Peace Park" and not an "Anti-Nuclear Park" because the lack of peace that led to Hiroshima being bombed. A firebomb attack, like those in other Japanese cities, would likely have killed and maimed a similar number of people. The type of bomb used on Hiroshima isn't actually very important in terms of the destruction and killing that happened there.

While its good for the Hiroshima group to use their recent award to try again for nuclear disarmament, they must know themselves how unlikely this would be. We have a Japanese PM who is talking about more, not less, military spending.

all countries should have nukes

US policy is driving Iran to aquire nukes. And any country that challenges the Petrodollar protection racket is in the same boat.

Life is to be lived in dignity. Weaklings believe they can survive for centuries by having recourse to toys called weapons. Strong people accept the shortness of life and refuse to waste time and money on weapons.
