Rashid?
Good job it isn’t named Taro, isn’t it!

Congratulation to all involved, glad to see Japan is doing it, hope to see more and more cooperation between all countries with these ambitions.

Not a person? Come on it's been more than 50 years.....

Not really done by Japan then is it !
Without the UAE and space X.
will Japan be sending one of their cardboard degradable satellites ?
How disapointing.
For a moment i thought Japan had became superior space technologies.

Wouldn't it be better to name it Habibi?

I'm not Arab but I feel like calling the rocket Rashid is kind of like calling a rocket 'Tony' or 'Barbara' or as Kurisupisu said 'taro' for the Japanese. Is there more of a story behind the name? Perhaps its inventor or the meaning of the name itself?
ian
You could learn the story and details by reading the article.
The rocket for example, is falcon 9

Anyway it may be more accurate to say that SpaceX aims to put the first private lander, which is Japan made, on the moon
Awa no Gaijin
Japan only built the lander !
not the rocket or the rover

I think this is cool, and will watch the launch online. Does EVERYthing here have to be an opportunity for slanted, uninformed political criticism?

Obviously it's not a 100% Japanese project..
It's called international cooperation, have you ever heard of this??..
Why the whining??..
Now what??, are they going to privatize the moon and make it the 51st state??, I wouldn't be surprised..
