Japanese fans fondly remember JFK 50 years later

Thank you. This story is so moving; what a wonderful gesture. It is comforting to know that somewhere in the world people understand and appreciate Jack Kennedy's legacy.

Kennedy was an idealist. So was Lincoln. Leaders of (or in?) a nation of people where some have their own way of settling their differences.

I was born over a decade after JFK was assassinated, so perhaps the lack of nostalgia on my part is one thing that fuels my inability to understand the American psyche... that and the fact that I'm not American. Thanks for the the link. : )

Kennedy may have had a great speechwriter in Ted Sorenson, but beyond that, didn't his misguided policies put the world to the brink of nuclear war?

Furthermore, regarding his morality, wasn't he a philanderer? Look how much Clinton was dragged through the mud over the Lewinsky scandal, whereas JFKs affairs were are overlooked, or even add to his charm?

I think "nostalgia" rather than "substance" is really what elevates the man to greatness.

There are too much to say about JFK in US history. There are many books, more than 90 books, have been written. I am listing all for you if you are interested in reading some.

I still remember where I was, what I was doing and how I reacted to the news on Nov 22 fifty years ago, so is everyone else. He was the most loved and hated US president in history as he was making too many changes. Yes, HE WAS MAKING TOO MANY CHANGES.

Some men are hidden from evil by God resting them in the grave. It makes one wonder whether JFK was one of those who was so pure.

Heres a better idea, then. Read a few biographies. Not some revisionist booklet from the John Birtch Society, but an actual biography from an actual biographer. (but then you've already made up your mind, haven't you)

Your exhastive research has led you to believe apparently only two things. He had a great speechwriter and was a philanderer. That would give you an F in any JHS history class.
