What a dick.

Freudian slip. Blame the stress.

Hang on, so this "official forum" was just a "Naver Line" chat group? A chat group that anyone on Line can make?

1/ Why would the Thai government use such a temporary and/or unstable platform, such as a temporary chat group? Why not create a "Google Groups" or use an official, government site?

2/ Why would anyone in their right mind join such a thing? The first time of using online communications is to separate private lines of communication from official/work/public ones. That's why most professionals use separate, work email addresses. Some people even access said addresses from separate apps, "just to make sure".

6 ( +7 / -1 )

How does one accidently do this?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Government uses 3rd party chat services for official communication is more shocking to me.

I've never understood the logic of sending dick pics. The vast majority of women don't consider them sexy at all. And if they are curious and want to know if you measure up, then they should make time for a face-to-face (or at least face-to-phallus) encounter to dispel the mystery properly.

It's true, most women don't. But most isn't all - some like them. So many guys seem to think all women like them though.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Why not mention the guy's name?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

A spokesman for the channel said the unnamed employee had been removed from the job

I don't understand why Asahi TV won't give the employee's name. The network has already identified him as the Bangkok bureau chief, which is basically the same as identifying him by name.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Perhaps he mistakenly thought I was a private parts line. In any event I'm quite sure it was a cock up...load.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I'm impressed (actually dismayed) at how they don't name him. I did a quick google and all reporting (so called journalistic sites) don't name him.

@San_Diegan: I'm impressed (actually dismayed) at how they don't name him. I did a quick google and all reporting (so called journalistic sites) don't name him.

This database entry from 2011 gives the name of the TV Asahi Bangkok bureau chief at that time, but there's no telling if the person named is the current bureau chief.

Don't we get to see the "offensive" picture ???

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I don't understand why Asahi TV won't give the employee's name. The network has already identified him as the Bangkok bureau chief, which is basically the same as identifying him by name.

Then why do you need his name?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I wonder what strain of Yaba he was on......?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@Strangerland Then why do you need his name?

That's exactly my point.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Then why were you questioning why TV Asahi didn't release his name?

2 ( +1 / -0 )

Kudos to the clever journalist that named this article :)

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@Strangerland I'm questioning the logic of that decision.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I could see myself doing this kind of thing so I have some sympathy for the guy.

-2 ( +3 / -3 )

@Strangerland I'm questioning the logic of that decision.

Of which decision? To not release his name? But you said they already did something that's the same as identifying him by name. So why do you need to know his name when according to you they've already done the same? If it's the same, then they don't need to release his name. Or are you now saying that releasing the information that he was the bureau chief is not the same as releasing his name?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@Strangerland Or are you now saying that releasing the information that he was the bureau chief is not the same as releasing his name?

You're overthinking this.

One time on TV a guy in the entertainment industry said that the most common pictures male users of Snapchat send to their friends are pictures of male genitals. I somehow doubt it but I guess after reading this story I think he may be right.

What a moron. Glad it didn't happen in Japan though, as he WILL face serious consequences. I can understand 'sexting', but if you do it, or even if you're just sending regular texts, of course, you need to confirm whom you are sending to. I've sent an email to the wrong person a few times over the past few years when iPhones were introduced because the order of the 'conversation' changes instead of just being individual texts kept in the order received. So when I thought I was sending a text to my wife I accidentally sent it to a co-worker, but fortunately only something like, "See you soon. I'll grab some milk on my way home", or, at worst once, "I love you (heart emoji)" to a little old lady I work with. She was thrilled, though assumed correctly I had made a mistake. Nearly sent one to my wife in which I was complaining about her (to a friend), and that would have probably been karma, but unlike the guy in this story I glanced at whom it was being sent to, first.

WOW what a fool, will he be put under house arrest?

Makes me think of the story in April (Group of teenage Thai actors punished for dancing on Japanese train and uploading onto social media) (https://www.japantoday.com/smartphone/view/national/group-of-teenage-thai-actors-placed-under-house-arrest-for-dancing-on-japanese-train)

These kids got in big trouble for showing them having foolish fun on trains and playing with "cheery blossom" this guy went all the way and showed his plums.

Well if he pulled his weiner he better get it in a splint. (eye roll) Just gotta love the article titles.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

see these, say goodbye, im getting a sex change tomorrow.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Oh I get it. This being Thailand he was probably mistakenly scouted by the local entertainment industry to take part in one of their transgender shows. He wanted to prove that he was in fact a male... What a tool. At any rate, I doubt he'll be severely punished by the penis system. I mean...oh never mind.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

It must have taken a lot of balls to do that......

0 ( +2 / -2 )

...better put him on suicide watch...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"See you soon. I'll grab some milk on my way home",

One percent? Or even worse (GAG) 0.5%?

chowarui:

" I could see myself doing this kind of thing so I have some sympathy for the guy. "

Seriously? You send dic picture to friends??

Afaic, this moron should get fired and get a job where he can´t embarrass his country.

I'm starting to think maybe I'm the abnormal one... don't own any porn and definitely do not take lewd photos of myself or others. One thing for sure.... camera phones have made it far to easy to do some real stupid stuff.

chowarui:

" I could see myself doing this kind of thing so I have some sympathy for the guy. "

Please don't send it to this forum by mistake!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The bureau chief, Mr. Naninani......I think this might have fixed the confusion. According to studies, most women are not impressed by the beauty of the penis. That is a man's ego thing.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

It was only a matter of time before someons showed their chicken in bangcock. ;)=

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

uploaded it through popular messaging app Line to about 150 journalists

This is an error in judgement if ever there was one - how to alienate oneself without even trying. And he probably didn't even get the girl!

a vomiting emoji from one group member

Yeah, right!

ooooops he cocked that up

@Noble713"I've never understood the logic of sending dick pics".

This is a direct product of westernization (Americanization) of society. Lack of pure self-respect and self-discipline of males. Various primitive instincts, stupid and boorish behavior are considered OK. Look at Hollywood movies for youngsters. Characters often drop pants, showing buttocks to strangers let alone send dick pics via internet to girls. It is considered quite normal in the USA.

After the recent dating scandal, I wonder if the chat group was really gay men posing as women?

TV Asahi? TV asadachi more like!
