These islands have a host. And this is not Russia. And this is not Japan. This is the land of the Ainu. In Japan, there are 20,000 of us. In Russia, there are 118. And in order to resolve the territorial dispute between Russia and Japan once and for all, these islands should be my people. 17,000 years have passed since Ayoyn, and his descendants have earned the right to have their own small land. But in another way.

What is the difference between the Korea-Japan Treaty and the San Francisco Treaty?

Should the Korea-Japan Treaty be obeyed and the San Francisco Treaty not?

Japan needs to make a treaty with Russia now-what a win win it would be!

They better make sure not to let any right-wingers (with Japanese imperial flags) on that tour coz those few bad apples will set things backwards once again.

Don't forget to pack your Japanese passport when visiting the Southern Kurils; you are traveling to Russia.

I swear you're the biggest Japan hater I've seen in this website. Here's an article about rebuilding bridges and here's your trying to make it a political thing again.

Which Russia did not sign, so not valid for 1. Russia did not exist as Russia and 2. the Soviet Union refused to sign. Pretty clear cut still under Japan.

Hahaha! That's not how it works at all. Once a country disclaims soveirgnty to a territory under an internationally recognized treaty, that country has no claim to the territory. It does not matter who did or did not sign the treaty, what matters is that one signatory disclaimed their rights to the land.

Nice try. Is this what passes for "logic" now?

Jaian disclaimed its rights to these islands in the SF Peace Treaty

A peace treaty is coming.

Is that what our Russian language sources tell you?

Let's not forget that Jaian disclaimed its rights to these islands in the SF Peace Treaty. This means that Japan trying to reclaim these islands is Japan trying to breach the SF Peace Treaty.

Good for them.
