Yeah. I think a little jealousy is at play by a few here......

Good luck on your trip, Yusaku Maezawa! May God's love be with you.
And those who bash him for playing 'Little Star' on his violin - cool it. He can play it better than you.
And to paraphrase some rock bands he may know:
All you need is love
Hold on tight to your dreams (ELO)
All I have to do is dream
Don't stop believing
Celebrate good times, c'mon!
Get up (Van Halen or REM)
Don't let them ever change your point of view (Rod Stewart)
Don't let the bastards drag you down (U2)
Don't give up (Peter Gabriel)
any more?

Like a direct line between the blunt and the $20/sh drop.
Tesla shares plummeted Friday after two executives announced their departures from the company and video of chief executive Elon Musk smoking marijuana and drinking whiskey on a popular podcast began to circulate on social media.
Those execs bailing had nothing to do with the share drop. It's normal corporate churn.

Challenges the theory of a life of luck and meaningful consequences.
kabukideath
So what? Being a bit literal aren't you?

@Serrano
Moon landing requires twice the weight of a simple orbit.
Hence twice the rocket size required(Or two launches) and three times the cost and complexity.
Cochise
One way ticket.
maybeperhapsyes
Yep. I’ll bet my right but it doesn’t happen.
Not for another 10-15 years at least.
Serrano
This trip is only going to orbit the moon. Maezawa's not going to land and take a walk like U.S. astronauts did 49 years ago? Why not? Too risky for 2018 technology?
maybeperhapsyes
@kaishu
yeah. But they destroyed the tech. Don’t you read anything?
Don Pettit (a NASA astronut) said it himself.
Youtube it.
Chip Star
This doesn't change the fact that Musk smoked a blunt, not a bong.
Kaishu
maybe
It was there in 1969.......or was it just a conspiracy?
kabukideath
A Charlie Sheen like stunt that cost his shareholders $20/sh.
maybeperhapsyes
The tech ain’t here yet folks. Nobody is going anywhere. Not a conspiracy theory.... it’s fact.
Chip Star
Elon smoked a blunt with Rogan, not a bong. Elon also commented that he hadn't smoke in a very long time.
Michael Jackson
Pride cometh before a fall.
Matt Hartwell
Elon needs to get on that DMT lol.

I'm all for space exploration, research in space, and use of space for the betterment of mankind.
Tourism though? Nah. What was it the climate meeting said? Twelve years left to change course? Burning huge amounts of energy so that attention seekers can trend on Twitter is wrong.

Japanese tycoon=Super Racoon millionaire in space with one way ticket in his hand, sayonara!
DaDude
He knows that sky is the limit if he could pull in a girl like Goriki Ayame.
Kaishu
JapaFan
Hopefully, more like 'itterasshai'.
goldorak
Very profound.
Have a nice trip! Just don't take Goriki Ayame with you, I implore you!
papigiulio
Why? Give a reason.
Why stop people from pushing limits. Maybe he has very talented engineers. Do you think noone died when they introduced airplanes in the past?
JapanFan
Sayonara.
kabukideath
Elon needs to put down the bong.
mariamaria
Hope all will be well and may you enjoy your trip! Btw, I haven't heard of his brand until this news rolled in. 2 birds in 1 stone, marketing and moon booking.
Alfie Noakes
He's not going anywhere. But he's getting an awful lot of free publicity for Zozotown.
fxgai
He is doing this for the marketing, I have no doubt.
Yubaru
Do you have that much faith in space travel? It's not like they can call a tow truck if something breaks.
It's a serious risk, even for the professionals, and while I got to give to it the guy for having the cojones to do it, sometimes having money, seems to me anyway, makes some people think that they are immune from getting into accidents or trouble.
This guy runs a very profitable business, and to have a net worth of (reportedly) over $2 billion US, means he as made AT LEAST double that or more (taxes here in Japan) and has a company and employees that depend upon him for THEIR livelihoods.

Michael Jackson
What could go wrong?
Chip Star
Why not?

Enjoy the virtual reality trip. The headache afterwards won’t be much fun.
Samit Basu
I have a bad feeling about this. He shouldn't have too much faith in Elon Musk's manned spacecraft.
Chip Star
I hope he enjoys his trip. As for Elon Musk, I hope he keeps inventing and inspiring cutting edge technology that makes the world a better place.
