Almost everybody wants the violence to end. Too bad there's not a switch where we can just turn it off.

She's grief stricken and her sentiments are understandable, but think of potential future victims of "Jihadi John". He'll never murder an innocent civilian again. Will someone else replace him? Possibly. But just maybe another middle class citizen from a western country will think twice before signing up for the jihad.

Sadly it will only get worse. The whole of France is in a state of emergency after scores killed by bombs and shootings in Paris.

An eye for an eye makes us all blind. Nothing else.

@paulinusa
Of course someone will replace him, conflict is the default state of human civilization. As long as human beings vary genetically, there will be
1: differences of opinion about things
2: people willing to enforce their opinion with violence
To eliminate violence you would need to genetically engineer a human-like organism with no violent inclinations AND it would need to be able to perfectly replicate its DNA (because any errors/mutations will, on a long enough timeline, re-introduce violent genes).
I'm not sure what makes people think they can go traipsing across the most dangerous place in the world with little/no military experience, sticking out ethnically/linguistically, and lacking reliable and powerful local contacts, and NOT end up getting their head cut off.

Sadly violence in the world will never end as long as there are nut-cases looking to grab power.

Heaven help us & real soon ,I hope!

Refreshing sentiment for all involved. Must never lose sight of this.

Of course we all want the violence to end. On the other hand, I wonder if Ishido is grateful that the US drone strike eliminated her sons murderer.
Are they serious? What is there left to investigate? They went to a "hot spot", got captured, used for ransom and were unfortunately executed.

Here's praying for world peace and inner peace within each of us.

Not sure if an eye for an eye thing works when you got radical Muslims saying they're going to out breed you marry your daughters and force shareea law down your throats. These guys are out of control and Europe has a very serous problem on their hand. I'm glad Japan refused the "refugees" and hope they are watching closely to what's happening over in Europe.
Yubaru
Few "refugees" are terrorists, and not all are Muslim either. There are literally millions upon millions of refugees throughout the world and rolling them all together into one is truly showing one's ignorance of the global problem of refugees.
Hell there are refugees in Japan NOW, and the government does little to help their own.
wtfjapan
ISIS dont give two F about anybody but themselves, by attacking Russia (plane bomb) and now Paris, they guarantee a huge amount of extra bombs will be dropped on them and other muslims in Syria. estimated 400,000 have been killed in Syria in the last 4 yrs, vast majority of them are muslims, the same people these murderous scum claim to fight for.
WilliB
We all hope that. In the meantime, there are people who want to kill us (including her), and we better deal with that. Radical pacifism has never been a strategy for survival.
