Isnt a mag 4 supposed to be considered very mild for earthquakes in japan?

As for Osaka, we only feel anything once every couple of years.

Isn't the next big one due for Kansai? Thought I saw that at the earthquake museum in Tokyo.

The squawk on my phone was late. I'm not sure there is any point on having a warning unless its a good 10-15 seconds before the shaking starts. Just enough time to get down from a ladder maybe or to remove that teetering fish bowl above a babies crib. The noise though is freakish. Perhaps a different sound would make it less stressful.

The alarm woke me up, didnt feel the quake though.

Though the wife said it shook a bit.

Personally, I find that awful squawking of everybody's phones more stressful than the actual quake. It's like a shot of panic adrenaline straight to the heart.

This kicked off the instant things reached the point of no return during my morning visit to the lav.

The wife's running around, banging on the bog door, panicking, "It's an earthquake! Earthquake!"

I had very few options available, mobility-wise, so I just commanded it to stop, and mighty Poseidon heeded my word.

Hate to break the news to you but...Fujisan is overdue for a massive eruption anytime soon.

This one woke me up from a dream that went on forever. I was happy to have been woken up by the thrill of a rocking bed ~ that never rocks otherwise.
