Quote WiiliB: "The nuclear plants survived the earthquake just fine, thank you."

Covered up and unthinkable, I know, but the very real suggestion is that it was the earthquake that trashed Fukushima, even before the tsunami struck. Only workers on the ground would breathe this kind of heresy, though.

Glad I'm in Okinawa though we have them too, just not as frequent or as intense. Scary!

This one felt quite strong even felt it on my first floor!!!

No solar cells were damaged in the quake.

Time to restart all the nuclear reactors. What could possibly go wrong?

-2 ( +1 / -2 )

Probably want to hold off restarting the ones near these recent earthquakes, though, until things settle down a bit. It's SUCH a pain stopping them after they've been started.

Rick Kisa:

" a reminder to those pressurising to restart the nuclear plants "

Why?? The nuclear plants survived the earthquake just fine, thank you. And would think that by now, emergency plans have been modified sufficiently to make sure that a tsunami can not take out emergency generators any more.

This knee-jerk ludditism is so not what we need.

Think I'll stick with the expert seismologists. Beats a Mayan calendar.

So, NO to nuclear power plants then, right.

Quite noticable that one. And I notice it was centered here in Kanto again, Looks like the activity is shifing here.

At Garagegames.com there is a prediction for a big one in the Tokai Region by 8 July. Will monitor news while on vacation.

It felt like the one exactly two weeks ago.

pukey - Absolutely! it felt EXACTLY like the one two weeks ago that shook for about 15 seconds and then stopped. Two earthquakes unlike any others in the past 10 years and sure to lead to more death and destruction.

Thought I was drunker than in fact I was; but not, it transpires. Hic.

a reminder to those pressurising to restart the nuclear plants despite reject by the people that earthquakes and tsunamis, not Hashimoto and the likes, will always say the last word and give the last advise on nuke reactors.

I live here in Tochigi, but i didn't feel anything. Maybe because i was driving. Good to hear nobody was hurt.

That one knocked down a couple of pictures off my wall.

I would think M5.2 quakes are "old hat" to people in Japan. No?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

That's the second in two days, virtually the same intensity and the epicenter in the same area. What will the expert seismologists will make of it?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@Berniek They are sideways.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I felt it up here in Sendai too. Are these shakers near Tokyo up and down or sideways?
