Hope there will be no damages or injuries.

However, it is of concern that stronger quakes appear to coming more ferquently.

As many of us still around after the 311 quake and numerous aftershocks of greater than 6.5 this is now considered the new small not even bothering to notice quake. It was just enough to stir one from a deep sleep but not surely one to wake up too.

The first of the two Kumamoto earthquakes was magnitude 6.2. It caused deaths and over a thousand injuries because it was very close to the Earth's surface. You cannot judge tremors on magnitude alone. The Japanese shindo number is much more useful but requires localized measurement.
