Man wants to move out of his home, so he takes off all clothes and walks through the neighborhood

Residents in Kita Ward of Kobe City who happened to be outside or looking out their windows at about 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday may have been subjected to an unusual scene. An unemployed 26-year-old man was walking down the street with his mother, when he suddenly began to remove his clothes.

The panicked mother began gathering his discarded garments in the hope that he might put them back on, but it was all in vain for when the young man finally reached full nudity the 110 calls came flooding in.

The authorities were quickly on the scene and the suspect was easily identified and arrested for being a “public nuisance.” He later admitted to the charges, but this is where things really begin to get weird.

During questioning, the man told authorities, “I wanted to move. I figured that if I embarrassed my parents then I would have to move out.”

Try to let that logic sink in for a moment and let’s together try to hash out what exactly this man’s plan was. First, here’s what some comments had to say:

“This is a situation that cannot be understood by an ordinary person.”

“His reason has nothing to do with what he did. What the hell?!”

“That was a terrible idea.”

“His way of thinking is too childish. No wonder he’s unemployed.”

“I guess he wanted to move into a prison?”

Initially we thought that the man wanted to motivate himself to leave by causing a huge and embarrassing scene. However, giving himself a criminal record probably isn’t getting his home ownership plan off on the right foot.

More likely is the possibility that he wanted to force his parents to pay for another place to live by mortifying them in front of the community. But the damage was already done, so sending him away wouldn’t accomplish much…or did he want the whole family to move together?

In the end, we think we can all agree that the real criminal here is the investigating police officer who never bothered to ask, “How was this going to help you move?” Either that, or he or she did ask but didn’t report it, leaving the rest of us with no closure to this story whatsoever.

so many nutcases like this on our streets. the mother is to blame for not getting him help, she should also be prosecuted

This young man sure was showing his naked contempt for his parents!

There is a certain level of creativity evident in Japan - unfortunately, very little of it appears to be positive or productive.

I wish all 'psychos' did innocuous things like this this and hopefully more female psychos follow his lead.

In some countries 'psychos' go berserk with assault weapons quite frequently.

LOL the "weird o meter" just hit the red line again. man you got to give it to Japan when it come to "weird!" not many can challenge them.

Well , let's be thankful assault weapons are strictly controlled in Japan although, it doesn't stop them using knives, axes and vehicles to do their dirty work.

Back on topic please.

"you got to give it to Japan when it come to "weird!" not many can challenge them". Well, I'll take 'weird' over 'gone postal' or 'God made me do it' anytime!

The only thing weird about this was his reasoning. Mentally disturbed people strip naked in public all the time, all around the world.

I don't think he deserves a criminal record, as he didn't harm anyone. Some psychiatric treatment might help, though.

I understand him, somehow. My family was in the same situation. Whenever my mother expressed desire to move out and live with my father away, my grandmother would become hysterical and threaten to harm herself and worse. It took my mother 20 years to win her independence. Some moms can be over attached.

I don't think he deserves a criminal record like this article implies. He's a moron who should be fined

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Agree 'indecent exposure' deserves a fine not a record.

The number of police made it seem more like he was carrying a real weapon not a pee shooter.

26 - unemployed - living with parents. Only blame I can think of is the parents. Stop doing so much for your kids. They need to learn about life! Real Life! Teach them about life, don't live it for them!

Nice. Demonisation of the mentally ill and the unemployed.

As usual; there is no background to the story. It's not known whether or not the young man had coping problems, learning disabilities or some kind of disorder.

Not being able to find a job & living at home at 26 doesn't mean he is a "psycho". Not everyone has a comfortable, middle class life where everything is peachy.

@toasted heretic

Yes. Maybe some are just mollycoddled, but there can be a bit too much of an 'all they need is a kick up the arse' attitude from some. I have a dear friend in the UK who suffers from mental problems and has gone through phases of shutting himself off from the outside world completely, self-harm and periods of functioning pretty well. His father had to learn that a kick up the arse when he's at a low is very detrimental.

I'm not saying this man has diagnosed or undiagnosed mental problems, but I too don't like the kind of language being thrown around here about mentally ill people.

@Lena Helena

I won't go on a rant here, just read Toasted Heretic's post one more time, and imagine it is from me, because I could not have it said any better.

Arrested for being a pubic nuisance.

Harmless

What's wrong with being naked? We all get naked a couple times a day. People go to the beach get all most naked some get naked, who cares!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

It was a harmless stunt and the young man deserves a ticket at worse.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

One question, was he good looking enough to make watching enjoyable for some people? [Grin]

Hey naked guy, here's a wacky idea.

Get a job.

Get out.

(or vice versa, it doesn't matter)

The End.

No job and he wanted to move out from his parent home! Come on men, he must be insane person. He should be sending to psychiatric hospital for evaluation for his mental health. He can kill his parent if he was mentally ill. We have read many stories about son murdering parent in news. The prevention is better than charge him with murdering parent or someone else later.
