Police said Sunday that a man's body was discovered at the side of the tracks in Funabashi City's Kaijin district around 6 a.m. on Saturday. Police said the conductor of a JR Sobu Line local train headed from Tsudanuma toward Mitaka spotted the body and alerted the authorities.

According to Funabashi police, the man was around 60 years old and was dead at the time of discovery. Authorities are currently trying to identify the man and cause of death, including the possibility that he had been hit by a train.

The man was found about 700 meters east of the Nishi-Funabashi Station platform. According to JR East Japan Chiba, a total of 12 trains in both directions were canceled, and about 14,000 people were affected by the incident.

Was he in 1 piece? Then maybe he wasn't hit by a train.

Wonder if they ruled out the possibility that he was hit by a Yamanote line train.

I think they should be able to tell immediately if he was hit by a train.
