The first lady signed on the back of each student's artwork, along with a message "Be Best!" — her children's initiative.

Be Best - yeah, that's right, teach Japanese kids wrong English. This is not helping things.

Better than being on a hot golf course. Sure the kids had a great time.

The first ladies should've played lazer tag and gone for drinks at a jazz bar.

BE BEST!

Unfortunately, most Japanese people won't realize the grammatical error. This is so sad for both American and Japanese people!

I bet you're a hit at parties, Pukey.

I also was taken aback at this Be Best phrase. Why not "Be Your Best"? At least it is grammatically correct. Pukey is right.

"Be Best" is the name of a program the First Lady started. It's short, bunchy and alliterative. "Be Your Best" would be a bit long, trite and boring for a name. She made the right choice.

Sometime English teachers surprise me with their lack of appreciation for the rhythm of language, instead focusing on pedantic rules. Live a little!

The First Lady is very classy.

Hey, "Be Best" is a LOT better than the Engrish on lot of T-shirts, lol.

Best First Lady in history. Stunning, kind, intelligent and good with kids.

Go Melania!

Our current First Lady is the "Kim Kardashian" of the Republican Party including nude photos, videos, uneducated background (ex. bad grammar and ironic understanding of logic) , gold digging and married to an idiot.

I'm astounded by the amount of 'people' on JT who are content with the Japanese dropping further down the TOEIC rankings thanks to the teaching of bad English. I just hope nobody is using Trump's tweets as English lessons, unless it's to learn how NOT to write English.

They were in Epson's Team Lab in Odaiba (next to the Megaweb). It's an extraordinary place, you can spend a lot of hours inside.

In English usage there are numerous occasions--especially when using the imperative (commanding) form--when a subject (you/your) or even an article (the) is dropped. (You) Live a little! in the quote above is a prime example.

Therefore, Be (your) Best or Be (the) Best is perfectly acceptable as it is not part of a formal piece of writing. Numerous exceptions are fine for informal speech or when used as a punchy slogan.

I agree that she is good with kids.

Nailed it beautifully!!

While I think Trump is an outright embarrassment and a fraud, as with all prior Presidents, we ought to leave the families out of the partisan food fight.

I'm in agreement, which is why I never make any comments on her one way or the other (except along the lines of that she's beautiful).

Good for you Melania!

That would be Michelle Obama. A truly inspirational person.

Melania Trump has a tough act to follow, that's for sure.

Michelle Obama? Nope.

Melania is great!
