Alas, eventually it will happen. But it will start not with the large, established powers but rather with less stable countries where ideological/religious hotheads can easily come to power. Think of Pakistan for example. Hopefully not in our lifetime.

He did not. You should look outside the misinformation bubble emanating from the talking heads at CNN et al.

The real definition of "Peace" is United States,UK, France scrapped all their nuclear arsenals first otherwise this yearly "Nippon Bukokan" was meaningless and hypocritic! And if any country using peace for their political propaganda is a very deplorable thing!
Alan Harrison
Lets all look forward to Nippon Bukokan on 15 August. That is what peace is really all about.

Japan should tell the Americans to scrap nuclear weapon first, if Japan failed to achieve any nuclear arms reduction from United Sates, then all these calls were hypocritic!
tooheysnew
tell that to Putin & Xi
japan has not indicated in any way of their desire to invade anyone, so how about you move on from last century to this century

Thank you @ AnodyneCommentBot.
Nagasaki and Hiroshima both are beautiful cities caught up in the racket that is war.

The mayor unknowingly made a prophetic warning because nuclear weapons will be used in the future when the red horseman of the apocalypse comes galloping over all the earth that will result in TWO BILLION with a B human deaths. Don’t be left behind at the rapture!

We cannot be complaisant about the possibility of nuclear war.

Who knows, Putin is a dishonest dictator who like other dishonest dictators has shown his words cannot be trusted. (Ex-Stasi and KGB agents like Putin have never been know for being trustworthy. But one of his lackeys claimed among the first cities hit by Russia's supposedly unstoppable weapons would be London, if so some of his oligarchs might lose their London mansions and some of his other extremist supporters might lose their homes, but maybe they'd be happier 'back in the USSR, where they'd learn' how lucky they aren't'.

Japan should be safe....as long as they don't invade Asia.... again. Constantly playing the victim will not help.
